“Hard to find something wrong with this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2009

We traveled with 2 toddlers and my mother for a week long trip. We booked the hotel using credit card points that uses Expedia. The rooms were clean. We had a 2 bedroom suite. One bedroom had a private bath. This was perfect for my mother. Every room had a tv. We had two balconies that had an ocean view. The pool was cleaned daily. The beach was steps from the hotel. It was nice having a small kitchen in the room so we could eat in some days for lunch or dinner. The parking lot is under the hotel rooms and it is a bit cramped sometimes. We laughed about it because we got to know the other guests as we waved them by. Even the continental breakfast was worth it. Free wifi in the room was nice since we brought our computer.

We patronized this resort the weekend after Mother's Day but the weekend before Memorial Day (stay dates-May 15 & 16, 2009). It was wonderful. Check-in was easy, uncomplicated, and welcoming. Parking was good - the parking deck is part of the building with the actual room - very convenient, you just have to be able to navigate tight spaces. There were plenty of luggage carts available. The elevators were efficient and easily accessible, never too long of a wait. The water amenities were spacious, clean, and very inviting. The pool goes to 7.5 feet, plenty of pool towels, water temperature in the lazy river was just right, sun chairs were soooo nice because of their covers - everything's tastefully laid out and makes you feel really relaxed and truly on vacation. Breakfast was wonderful, more than what you would expect from "continental style", location was convenient for all floors, set up was easy to navigate, service was upbeat and inviting. The rooms are amazing, comfortable beds, flat screen tv's, great bathrooms - ours even had a retractable clothes line for letting bathing suits drip dry, everything was very clean and modern, well laid out spaces. The oceanfront balcony was awe inspiring, felt like you could reach out and touch the ocean. We loved the location, the nortern tip of north myrtle beach (Windy Hill section). The beach was not crowded and sooooooooo clean and beautiful. This resort has great access to the beach. All the employees were very cordial and appeared to be happy at work, always willing to send us in the right direction or get whatever we needed, no hassles or long waiting periods. This location is away from alot of traffic and "city atmosphere", which is what my family was looking for. Our kids (8 months & 20 months) had a great time, and so did the parents. I wanted to stay an extra night. We booked online under the current manager's special so the value we received was above and beyond for the price we paid. I would stay here again, we arrived and departed with pleasure!!!! Getting around town was a breeze, from this place you are litterally 15 minutes from Broadway at the Beach...and 5 minutes from Barefoot Landing. We were so excited about this mini-get-a-way and Seaside did not let us down.

I did an extended stay at Seaside and could not have been more pleased. The hotel was picked entirely at random from internet listings and I chose it because of the interesting room arrangement, amenities, high speed internet connection, whirpool tub and the newness of the facility. While the furnishings would not have been a choice of mine, they were more than comfortable and far beyond adequate for beach side property. The washer and dryer makes a big difference in the amount of clothing that one needs to bring. I'll leave that second suitcase at home next time. Long term guests (two months for me) receive house keeping service on a weekly basis and while I never saw the staff in my unit, their efforts were very evident. My philosophy is to tip house keepers and the rewards netted extra towels, tissue, coffee, soap and shampoo. I didn't want for a thing. The only negative about the unit that I was in was the bathroom. It could have used a fresh coat of paint. Ken (maintenance man) was in to fix a stopped up drain within 5 minutes of my reporting it. I was in a type "H" unit where there are no windows in the bedroom.

Yes parking is tight, but unless you're driving one of those giant SUV's, it won't present a problem. Flo in the breakfast room is charming. She makes an effort to remember your name and you'll always be greeted appropriately. She's truly a gem for Seaside. Front desk staff are pleasant; Lauren is charming and always cheerful. Teena (general manager) is very accommodating and made the breakfast room available to the Snow Birds on a weekly basis. The entire staff truly wants to please.

We spent a week in one of the 3 bedroom corner ocean front suites, we loved the view of the ocean and beach from our balconey, we were very pleased with the cleaness of the rooms and the maid service. From checking in to checking out we found all of the stafff to be very helpfull. We enjoyed the breakfast room very much, with the large asortment of breakfast food items, enough that anyone could find something they liked. We enjoyed starting the day with a visit with Flo. the lady that ran the breakfast room. She was always very cheerfull and helpfull, and always greeted us with a cheerfull good morning. The lazy river was a favorite of all in our group, I liked the cumputer in the lobby for guests to use.
Parking was a little close but one could manage, there was overflow parking acros the street. We have visited Myrtle Beach 5 times and stayed at Condos, hotels, resorts, Seaside is at the top of our list. A great place to have a vacation, now when coming to Myrtle Beach the place we would want to stay is Seaside, great job Seaside hope to visit you again.

I am very surprised by the last two comments about the Seaside. My husband and I have stayed at the Seaside twice now and have recommended the resort to all our friends and family. We love the beautiful furnishings and that it is located in a quiet section. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly when we asked about restaurants and things to do in Myrtle Beach. The woman who runs the continental breakfast always greeted us with a smile. We had a problem with our bathroom the first time we stayed there and the problem was solved in ten minutes.. We have never had a problem with cleanliness or bugs although we have stayed in other hotels in Myrtle Beach where these things were major issues. All I can say is that we will definitely return to the Seaside for all our vacations.

Stayed here on Valentine's day and the next day both of the days we had what the front desk called palmetto bugs. I am sorry it is a cockroach. When the front desk told me that it was from the trees outside,i said i dont care. then they said they could do nothing about the "Palmetto Bugs". I dont even know how they even think they can get away with it by telling someone it is a Palmetto Bug and evething be ok. it is not it is a bug in your room

The management and staff at the Seaside take each and every guest comment seriously. We have a regularly scheduled treatment by a reputable local pest control company each month. Palmetto bugs, as they are know locally, are flying insects and can sometimes enter a room when balcony doors are opened. We apologize that this guest came in contact with the pest and that we may not have responded appropriately. We will work with our staff on the proper response and follow-up. We thank the guest for taking the time to comment and we hope the guest will consider another visit to the Seaside Resort.
