My wife and I have stayed here many times.Excellent staff great location. They are in the middle of some renovations which is somewhat needed. I hope they upgrade the beds and please change the fans in the bathrooms(loud).Apart from this the hotel is excellent for the dollar value. Looking forward to next year.

My family decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Mytle Beach. I used my AAA discount and secured a room for about 120$ including tax. The room was on the 9th floor and had a balcony facing the ocean. Coming from Long Island, this is a bargain. My family has stayed in both world class hotels as well as budget travel motels. This is not "the Ritz", it is a Best Western. So as the saying goes "It is what it is." With that in mind, overall it was a good stay. My room was clean, adequately maintained, bug free and did not have any odd smells. The building is well used. The veiw was amazing. The kids loved waking up to the ocean view. The ocean temperature was 86 degrees! The pool and the lazy river were great as were the drinks at the tiki bar. Yes, the parking situation was difficult and the elevators were very slow. We lucked out and parked each time under the tower. Each staff member I came in contact with was lovely and could not do enough for you. We had a very relaxing time and plan on returning next year. My 3 year old cried when we left. The beach access is what made this stay so great! Don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy the view.

this property should be condemed! stayed there one night I had booked 2 but could not stand the stench in the room The room smelled of urine,and was not anything like the pics on their web site. Very old and dirty. They dont even have enough parking. We had to park across the street in a city parking lot. What a dump.

We searched for our hotel on the Gold crown site of Best Western, but thg only way we could get a King size effiency with a balcony in the tower, (a quiet room was asked for) was to contact hotel on June 28th for our stay on August 15-17th. I was given the AAA rate of $125.10 per night. I was asked for credit card for 1st night's payment. I asked 3 times for an email or fax confirmation of my room type and confirmation number. It finally arrived August 9th. with no room description nor price. I should have know there would be problems. When we arrived I was assigned a room in the small annex. I questioned the clerk and someone came up with a "handicap room" in the tower witha balcony. The problem was it was right above a noisy pool with a band and singer that played until 10 PM. The handicap room had no counter space in bathroom, no efficiency & was too noisy to open window or go out on balcany and water dripped onto balcony from above. Our Non smoking room was near the end of the halll between two rooms of smokers, one who kept room door open to let smoke oze out to the hall. Stairs ways were litter cluttered and filthy. Only 1 elevator. We had to park a block in a parking lot 1 - 2 blocks away. Breakfast in the tower consisted of donuts and coffee, In a smal room behind the office there was a braekfat counter but with almost 500 people in the three bulildings of the hotel, you could get near it. another patron told me that there was only cold ceral danish and pasteries. I complained about the handicap room not being an efficiency and asked the rate. I was told it is the same as King efficiency. What a rip off. On the Best Western website a handicap room was $99.95. The customer service was contcated upon our return, No satisfaction and Manger from hotel only contacted them., not us. I was very disappointed. We have never had an experience with Best Western that bad.! Stay only if you want a noisy pool lots of kids, smoke and lousy food!
