Description: Located on Main Street in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach, Flynn’s Irish Tavern is a locals favorite and a must stop for annual and first time visitors to the Grand Strand. Just a short walk from the wide sandy beaches and first class accommodations of Ocean Drive, and a short ride from the many championship golf courses that populate the north strand. Flynn’s is a perfect place to enjoy a pint or two after a day on the beach or the golf links.Flynn’s is owned and operated by the Flynn Family and the authentic look and old country feel of the establishment comes from Marty’s place of birth, County Roscommon, Ireland. The tavern is housed in the former North Myrtle Beach jail, in fact, the jail cells are still here and tours are given upon request.

“Tough to review”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

I hate to review a restaurant the first time I eat there. There were 6 of us and one couple said how much they loved the Shepard's Pie so we all ended up getting the same thing. Except for the couple that loved the Shepard's Pie the rest of us thought it was quite mediocre especially for the price of $10.99. Small in size. Probably less meat than what one gets on a Hamburger sandwich. As far as taste, I can say it was just so so. You would expect something more from a place called Flynn's.
I will say our waitress was sweet and nice and attentive as she could be since she was waiting quite a few tables. Her mother, the owner came to our table and knew our friends who have been there. She was delightful. We chit chatted for probably too long, but it didn't change the taste of the food.
I would definitely go back and try their corned beef next time.

“Good but pricey for bar food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

They have Smithwick's on draft. It's probably my favorite ale. Their hamburgers are good but at $8.00 per burger. The staff is sparse but friendly. Since it is a popular place among the locals, it can take a whille to get waited on.

“Friendly Bar -- but not a #1”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Don't see this being No. 1 on Trip Advisor after our amazing meal at Joe's Bar & Grill last night. The people at the bar were very friendly except for the bartender. Maybe he was too busy, don't know. I had the Shepherd's Pie. It was good but the mashed potatoes were just a clump in the center. Needed more. No rolls or anything else to go with it. My husband just had the Potatoe Soup. He does not like soup that is just pureed with no chunks of potatoes.

Would go back but -- no way a No. 1.

“The corned beef is the best we've ever tasted, awesome!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

Wish this place was nearer Florence because we would be here all the time. We never try any other entree on the menu because the corned beef is so delicious and the portion size very generous!! The she-crab soup is pretty tasty too! We come to North Myrtle beach primarily to visit this restaurant after a walk on the beach!!!
