“Well worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2010

My husband and I did both the show and the ghost walk. After reading some reviews here, I was a little nervous before we went but was really happy with it! We went with Pirate Terry and it was just us and another family. We had the place to ourselves and we really liked hearing about the stories. It was around 2 hours long with a break at House of Blues. If you don't have time for the walk - definately see the show which was around 20 minutes.

“really cool...short, but cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2009

I had seen this attraction advertised on Barefoot Landing's website, and we decided to check it out during our most recent trip to North Myrtle beach. The "theatre" is basically the size, and style, of a small house. There is a cramped gift shop/ticket counter right inside the front door. The shop sells tickets, ghost books, toys, novelties, etc etc. Once you buy your ticket they seat you a few minutes before the "show" starts. We went pretty early in the morning and there was only one other family in there with us. A "secret" door opens up and you head inside. There are several benches in the room. The theatre is really cool, it looks like the inside of an old "low country" South Carolina home. Lots of detail and a "spooky" feel to it. The show is about 25 minutes long and flies by. If you are familiar with any of the Grand Strand's ghost lore, you will probably recognize a couple of the stories in the show. There are no live actors in the show, but there are some top-notch special effects. There are 4 stories that play out here, each about 5-6 minutes long. Very cool, I just wish it was longer. I wouldn't recommend taking small children into it as it does get pretty scary in parts, mainly near the end during the Grey Man segment. Staff is friendly. Two thumbs up.

“Theater Is Worth It”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2009

We've seen the show inside the theater twice, and we'd see it again. The effects still amazed our 11yr old daughter. This year we took in the ghost walk along with the show, and we were disappointed. The guide did a great job of story-telling, but it wasn't as serious as we'd liked it to have been. It was all in fun with a few facts(?) sprinkled here and there. We walked through Barefoot and across a small swampy area, up to the House of Blues and back across the lake toward the shop. The last story told was of a *real* mermaid held captive by a local doctor in 1893--causing a terrible hurricane to hit the shores to reclaim her. We've been to a real ghost walk in Daytona, held by an official TAPS member. Now THAT was exciting. We actually experienced some paranormal activity that all of us on the tour could attest to. Ghost and Legends is just for fun ;) See the show, but skip the walk.

Thank you for your visit and positive words! We're glad you enjoyed the Ghost Show. Just to be clear to other readers: Our Ghost Walk is advertised and designed to share true local history and legends of our region through the rich southern tradition of storytelling. It is not our intention to represent ourselves as paranormal investigators offering ghost hunts to detect spirits via blinking electronic devices, -a completely different thing altogether. We hope those interested in fun, learning about our area through the traditional form of Ghost Walk will consider joining us, and experience our great storytelling guides!

“We had a great time”

We had a great time on the ghost walking tour. Our pirate story teller was the best. I took 6 of us and we all had a great time.
