“Great place to shop”

My wife really liked this place. Not as much for the kids to do as Barefoot Landing, but we had fun. Alligator Adventure was a blast!

“We Love It”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

This is a great way to spend the day if you are beached out. There are some very unique shops with great deals. There is a carousel and mirror maze for the kids. We could also spend hours watching the tigers at the TIGER preserve place. We did pay the $89 this year for a picture. They seated us and brought out a baby bonobo (monkey) and we each (there were five of us) got to hold him and get our picture taken. We also got to pet him for what seemed like about five minutes while waiting on the tiger cub. They brought out the cub, a tree-month old golden tabby - very rare!, and we got to hold her and feed her a bottle while they took pictures. Then we got to pet her for a minute or two. This was totally worth the experience! They will try to sell you extra pictures but there is no pressure. The kids said this was their favorite part of vacation.

“A nice way to pass some time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

We had just checked out of Monterey Bay after our 2 night stay. Our next destination was Sumter, just over a 2 hour drive. We decided to stop at Barefoot Landing since we had some time to kill and we had heard a lot about it. It was a beautiful early afternoon that day and we strolled along past all the restaurants and stopping in a few of the many shops. All the store employees greeted you with a smile and a welcome. It was a very slow day at the site, with very few people sight seeing. I'm guessing any potential customers were a welcome site. Some of the store employees had told us it was a bit slow because of the unseasonably cool weather in N. Myrtle Beach. Being from NJ, the mid 50's weather was fantastic! We walked over all 3 bridges that crosses the lake and took many pictures. At one point, we stopped to feed the HUGE fish that hung out near one of the areas where you could buy a handful of fish food. The lone duck was quite thrilled also. We unexpectedly found Alligator Adventure. We didn't know it was there. Going in from Barefoot Landing is the back entrance. Anyway, we spoke to the 2 ladies at the desk and realized this attraction can pretty much be a near whole day of fun. We told them we were hopefully coming back in late May and would bring our son, daughter in law and grandkids with us. That would make for a nice day. So after about 3 hours, we decided it was time to leave. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and will definitely try to come back again in May.

“better than expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

At first I thought this would be tourist trap, but our family spent a relaxing afternoon here. There is a big variety of stores, with something for every interest and price point. We only walked around half of it, could spend as much time or as little time there as you wished.

“A lot to choose from..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

We were shocked at the variety of restaurants that are to choose from at this one location. You can get wings, burgers/dogs, fish, bbq, there's the House of Blues and the Alabama Theatre. Some of the restaurants have a nice view of the water on the back side. There's a lot of shops, Maggie Moos, a candy store.....and there's even a walking path to Alligator Adventure.
