“Beautiful!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo in the Jasmine Tower, and we were very pleased. The condo is very spacious, with a large living area and dining area. The master bedroom is large, with a beautiful view of the ocean. We stayed 4 nights, and it was very quiet and pleasant. The pools are nice, but we spent most of the time at the beach since that's why we came to Myrtle Beach. I am very picky when I stay in a hotel, and this place met my expectations. Everything was clean in the condo, and I felt very at ease and comfortable. The beds are nothing special, but the balcony is very spacious and there are plenty of chairs and even a lounge chair. The facility is in an excellent part of Myrtle Beach, close to many restaurants and shopping malls. There are 2 Tanger outlet malls very close, and of course Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. The staff at the front desk were very nice when we checked in, and we were able to change our unit since we were originally assigned a unit on the 16th floor. I didn't want to be that high up, so after a quick phone call, he changed our unit to the 8th floor. He said, " I want you to feel comfortable enjoying the balcony". I would definitely return to North Beach Plantation. The only thing that I would like to point out is that I was a little disappointed with the lack of privacy on the balcony. The people in the Indigo Tower can see the people on their balconies in the Jasmine Tower, and vice-versa. I have had better ocean front views at the beach: this condo only has a partial view of the ocean. Also, remember this is a condo, so there is no maid service. They do pick up towels and trash daily, but that is the extent of the service. Remember to bring extra supplies with you such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, etc, because these are not supplied. Overall, we were very satisfied!!

Pros: Comfortably furnished spacious one bedroom unit on 7th floor Indigo Tower complete with 2 flatscreen tvs, full-sized kitchen appliances, ample closet space, in-room safe. Friendly courteous staff, ample parking [our Honda Ridgeline truck fit - but it was tight]. Lots of pools for grownups and kids. Pools, whirlpools, and grounds were immaculately kept. We had no trouble finding the turn opposite "ALABAMA", nor the turn off 48th Ave. into NBP. Clear signs directed us to check-in. Staff gave a quick rundown of amenities, a map of the property and directions to our tower, beach accesses, etc. We were originally booked into Jasmine Tower, but the unit still hadn't been cleaned at 4p.m. checkin. So, we were checked into Indigo Tower. The difference is that you have a southerly view of the ocean & beach as opposed to a straight-out view. NBP is close to shopping, restaurants, entertainment, plus a short drive to Tanger Outlets, chain stores, gas stations, etc. You can walk for miles along the beach in both directions and not have to zigzag around crowds of people. We stayed in the middle of May, so it may be more crowded in high season. I really want to stress how clean the elevators, hallways & grounds were kept! Even the beach was clean. This is a gated resort with overnight security.
Cons: Our major irritation was the sketchy daily towel & trash service which we knew to request on check-in. First day was fine, after that it was sporadic. We did call one day when we were down to one set of towels for two people....flip you for 'em...LOL! We called & clean towels were delivered promptly. Remember to call before 5pm when the service ends for the day. Would have liked a guide to local channels; we aren't familiar with local stations and they didn't match up to the newspaper listings. It would also be helpful to have a set of potholders in the kitchen.
All told, we would highly recommend NBP. You must remember these are privately-owned & furnished condos. This is not a hotel so don't expect daily maid service. You must fend for yourself as if you were home. Buy/bring your own groceries, paper products, cleaners, etc. Although the resort did supply soaps, laundry detergent for one load and dishwasher detergent. Bonus....no racing out the door to avoid maid service, no screaming kids racing past your door to the ice & vending machines.
We enjoyed our stay and hated to leave as it felt like "home". We will definitely be back!

WHAT IT IS: You are renting a luxury, privately owned condo. The other reviews are spot on about the quality of the rooms and views. It's new and is impeccable.

WHAT IT IS NOT: This is not a luxury hotel with all the amenities that go along with it. It is lacking in basic things that really take away from the experience. First, the lobby is not in the building. It is 1/4 mile away. There are no restaurants, ice cream bars, gift shops, etc. It only has rooms. There is a non-descript, make-shift coffee/breakfast bar on the third floor with a "bar" in a bland undecorated room, but it doesn't scream luxury. If you want a drink near the pool, you must get in the water to get it because there is no wait staff.
You only get towel service and trash removal. The rooms are not cleaned daily. If you stay here a while like we did, you may need to clean your bathrooms and even then you need to buy your own cleaning supplies. The kitchen has a few pots and pans and glasses, but if you do your own cooking, you must stock the pantry with everything including plastic wrap and even pot holders.
There is no business center on premise. In order to print my boarding passes, a sales person let me use her work computer in her office at the check-in building 1/4 mile away. I interrupted her work.
If you are coming here to be pampered, look elsewhere. This is very much a self-serve condo rental. Once you check in you are pretty much on your own. The staff are there to clean the pool and stock towels. If you are OK with that, you will really like it. I prefer a more traditional hotel experience and will not return.

If your from South Carolina you know you have to go down to the beach at least one time during Summer or it's just not Summer! I consider myself to be fairly stuck up when it comes to hotels and resorts and only want the best when on vacation. I have finally found everything I need and want from a property. NBP is located off the highway and directly on the oceanfront. It is very quiet but yet you still are only three minutes from the HOB, Broadway at the Beach, Restaurant Row and Barefoot. I loved that this is a gated community and once you checked in at registration (which is not anywhere near the hotel) you did not have to speak to anyone from the hotel and you felt like you owned the place. Me and my husband had a two bedroom suite located on the 12th floor. We had perfect, romantic views and did not have to worry about screaming kids or disturbances from people down the hall. To sum it all up, you can not get ANY better than NBP when staying anywhere close to Myrtle Beach.

Room Tip: Request a room in the tower located directly in front of the ocean and not the side tower.

We just returned home today after a week of vacation at the North Beach Plantation. It was a wonderful experience. Several different pools, most heated, indoor and out. Great views of the ocean whether you are in Jasmine (oceanfront) or Indigo (western facing towards Skywheel). Parking is sufficient and secure. The units are well furnished and the balconies are spacious. All units are non-smoking but smoking is permitted on fore mentioned balconies. Just a short drive down the street and you find yourself directly at the entrance to barefoot landing. Also, you don't have to go far should you want to take a banana boat ride; they set up shop directly on the beachfront in front of the resort. The only complaint I have, which caused me to rate this resort a 4 instead of a 5 is, while advertising free wifi for the towers, it is sorely lacking. There did not appear to be a sweet spot in any sense. I had some work to be done while at the resort and had to go to the lobby several blocks away to use their more reliable Internet connection. So if you are on your phone, save up that data for this trip. Otherwise it was a truly great experience and we will be back.....though I do hope they fix the wifi by next year!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the North Beach Plantation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on the 16th floor of the Jasmine Tower. Awesome view of the ocean from both balconies.
My only suggestion would be to upgrade the coffee bar.
We will be making plans to get more of our family together and rent a larger condo next time.
Can't wait to visit again.

I had visited the property last year and was considering purchasing a unit for rental primarily but didn't get back to task. This year I went and stayed in one of the units (Hampton) in the tower. The condo appeared new in the rental program. Each of the units may have different decorating styles depending on the owner, however all must maintain a standard to be included in the program. The furnishings were comfortable as well as the beds. We had a king size bed in the master and two queens in the additional bedroom. The additional bedroom was en-suite as well as sharing double duty as the hall/guest bath. The kitchen was well equipped, however it didn't have and ice cream scoop for this ice cream lover.:( This is a minor point but humorous to me. the indoor pool and river pool were heated as well as the outdoor pools. The hot tubs have various temperatures depending on what temp a person wishes ie hot but not too hot, or at the higher temps according to SC law. The kids would have a good time in the outdoor pool, especially the zero entry one. The swim up bar is a nice addition for a mainland condo complex. There are also homes available for rent, however we wanted beachfront and we got it with the towers. The views of the coastline were great from one tower and the other tower was totally water view. Either tower would be appealing. I would return again in the future.
