We had an enjoyable stay during the week of August 25th to September 1st. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The suite (#2507) was clean, well supplied, and in good repair. The furnishings were nice and the bed comfortable. The carpet is starting to show its wear and probably should be replaced soon. We were in the shore crest 2 building, which is across the street from the beach. This was not an issue, as the street is narrow, not too busy, and the walk short. We enjoyed the marsh/treetop view and the nightly fireworks display from nearby Barefoot Landing visible from our suite. Furthermore, the way our suite was situated, we actually had a partial ocean view from our second bedroom between the beachfront buildings. We did not experience the elevator delays that many of the prior reviews cited (even on Labor Day Weekend). The longest wait for an elevator was a minute or two. One person I spoke to who is a frequent guest said that elevators can be an issue in the summer when the schools are closed and the crowds are at a maximum. Also, elevators are more of an issue in Shore Crest 1 (with 2 elevators) than in Shore Crest 2 (with 3 elevators). Shore Crest 1 and Shore Crest 2 share the same facilities and amenities. With an indoor pool, 2 outdoor pools, 2 lazy rivers and a fitness center; the Shore Crest has ample recreation facilities. They also have a robust activity schedule. My only criticism is that there is no restroom near the outdoor pool in the Shore Crest 1 building. This is the busiest pool area, yet one has to go to the 3rd floor to use a restroom. I am surprised that the health/pool inspectors allow this as it does not seem very sanitary. If they cannot feasibly install a restroom, they should at least put a couple of portable rest rooms nearby during the warm weather season. On a positive note, they had ample parking; including several overflow lots beside and across a small street from Shore Crest 2. Also, luggage carts were plentiful.
