“Don't judge this book by its cover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2010

Our group of vacationers ate at Rockefellers on Monday July 19th, 2010 for supper. The building's exterior will not be winning any beauty prizes in the near future and the inside is set up more as a bar than a restaurant but that is where the negatives end. We had a bit of a wait as every American east of the Mississippi is headed to the east coast in hopes of avoiding a tarball sighting on the gulf. Look, everything our group ordered was good. The hushpuppies basket is served with a sweet and buttery sauce that you could easility get addicted to. But, the meal my wife and I shared might be the best, and for sure top three, steamed shellfish meals I have ever had. Don't ask for a menu, just order the Rockefeller's Steam Pot. This bad boy could feed three adults and the seafood was steamed perfetctly. By far the best meal I had the entire vacation and we ate out every night all week long with a lot of advance research.

“Great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2009

This place is a local's hangout joint. The people are a little rough around the edges, but the place is quaint and fun. I've eaten here twice and loved it both times! The steam pot (for two) is incredible. Happy Hour is also good with cheap drinks and inexpensive munchies. The mussels over pasta are the best I've ever had! Oysters on the half shell, crab legs and clams were excellent as well. It's not a frilly place, so put on your shorts and flip-flops and relax!

“Great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2009

Family vacation (parents with teenagers) planned on going out to one nice dinner together during our week stay in North Myrtle Beach. There are buffets "everywhere" but we just didn't feel like getting in lines to eat. We wanted to sit down and enjoy ourselves. We also wanted a casual place. Rockefellers was perfect! It was crowded--they said we had a 45 min. wait but we only waited about a half hour. It's a bar atmosphere, fast paced but we didn't feel rushed. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Check out their website for their menu.
