We origninally booked a room at the Hampton Inn right down the street
but we left there at 12:30am after the WORST hotel experience of my life and luckily walked into the Holiday Inn. We called the location from the Hampton, spoke to a wonderful woman at the front desk who got us a great rate at midnight (!) and made sure that there was a crib ready and waiting in our truly non-smoking room (see my review under the Hampton Inn to understand the rest of this). When we got into our room I felt so relaxed after a HERENDOUS experience of teaching all day, a six hour drive, and then having to almost run out of a horrible, scary, unsafe hotel. The room decorations were beautiful, the crib was up, and we fell asleep almost immediately. We stayed at the hotel for three nights and loved the room, the pool,
the hot tub, the restuarant and my 15 mo old loved the "round bench" in the lobby. On check out the desk clerk actually realized that we were eligible for a lower rate and charged our account back the difference. That was truly the icing on the cake. My grandmother lives in Charleston and I will never stay anywhere else when I visit her!!!!!!

Excellent location with easy access from airport and to Tanger Outlets. A new, modern hotel with a restaurant, lounge and lots of parking. Overall a great place to stay!

My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed here a total of 4 nights and, except for an internet glitch in booking (turns out it was our fault!) everything went smoothly and the staff was fantastic, helpful, cheerful and always greeted us as we came in or out. The rooms are as pictured, new, clean and spacious, and made up each day, down to the new soaps and lotions provided. The desk even recommended a fantastic church to attend, as we were there over Easter Sunday, (Mt. Moriah Baptist off of Ashley Phosphate Rd, just a couple of freeway exits down 26). The breakfast buffet is good, a true Southern feel to it, and the cooked-to-order plates are HUGE, too much food for me, but fresh and hot. Coffee excellent also. A "holla" to Don, the bartender, who makes awesome drinks and showed us the opossum that visits the back patio at night. He handed out complementary breakfast buffet coupons for the following morning. All in all, we would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel for any traveler that wants to experience true Southern hospitality in a modern, comfortable setting, close to the airport and less than a 20 minute drive to the historic/downtown area. Thanks to all the staff, you are awesome! We will be back.

My husband and I visited Charleston at the end of March. We chose the hotel for two reasons: 1) the hotels in the Historic District were booked, and 2) Kevin, the concierge at Holiday Inn in the Historic District who receives so much good feedback on the trip reviews suggested it. It turned out to be a very good choice. Kevin sold us on the hotel with the information that it was smoke free, contains a plasma TV in each room and an outlet mall was near.

Upon entering the suite, we found it to be very clean with nice simple furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. Although there is construction outside in the front of the hotel, our sleep was not disturbed at all.

There is a small restaurant on the property that has a neat feature: a small plasma on the wall beside each booth. The breakfast was just OK but the waitresses were wonderful. Actually, all of the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The historic district is only about ten minutes from the hotel. There is an outlet mall and a WalMart a couple of miles from this location. We enjoyed our visit and our stay. We would stay here again.
