We stayed at the Hyatt for five nights to attend a conference at the adjacent convention center. This hotel has been recently renovated and everything is fresh and clean. The most outstanding feature, however, is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They were unfailingly pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. This is not a fancy hotel, but the lobby area is light and pleasant, there is a nice selection at the complimentary breakfast bar with hot selections available for a minimal extra charge. The rooms have a separate seating area with sofas and a big screen TV, a refrigerator and service bar, a perfect setup for watching the Superbowl with some friends. The exercise room was very nice for a hotel of this size - light, fairly roomy, new state of the art machines and a rack of weights. The only downside is that the hotel is 8 miles from downtown Charleston. However, a shuttle ($5) for downtown leaves hourly from the nearby Embassy Suites. There is also a shopping center nearby for necessities, Starbucks, etc. A free shuttle from the Hyatt takes you to and from the airport.

I recently stayed at this hotel while staying overnight at Charleston. Great hotel with a convenient location to downtown. Staff was incredible and the price was reasonable. The room was new with updates and very sleek styling. I requested a king but was unavailable so I had to settle for 2 queens. Excellent sleep quality in the comfortable bedding.

After the "flight from hell," we decided to find a hotel to the airport & drive into downtown Charleston in the morning. A man that my friend spoke to on the plane suggested this hotel. We had absolutely beautiful & clean rooms with a great shower. We slept on the most AMAZING bed-I want one for our home!!!
Since we were too tired to go out for dinner we stopped for some wine & snacks to take to the rooms. Forgot the corkscrew, but NO PROBLEM! The staff opened the wine & gave us wine glasses from the bar to take upstairs. Loved this place...

Stayed here for three nights to attend a conference at the nearby Convention Center. Conveniently located just off I-26 and an easy 10 minute drive into Charleston. The Convention Center is practically in the backyard - I walked each day to my meetings.
Staff is friendly and helpful, but professional and not intrusive. The hotel is quite new and decorated in a contemporary, warm style. Plenty of comfy, practical places to sit in the lobby, which doubles as a pleasant lounge. The front desk area is ingeniously and attractively designed to incorporate a mini-deli, cocktail bar and snack center. There is also an efficient office center in the lobby if you need to check e-mail or fax something.
My very spacious room had two queen beds that were extremely comfortable. The bedding was double-sheeted, which adds a nice little layer of luxury and cleanliness, The wall-mounted flat-screen TV was huge - much bigger to mine at home! The room felt like a studio, with a separate lounge area with large sectional furniture, a dry bar with coffee machine and fridge, and a great desk area with tons of electrical outlets, free WiFi plus a panel of other outlets and ports for computer, entertainment and other devices that you may travel with. Large closet with plenty of hangers and an iron, well-lit sink area with ample counterspace. Tub/shower area and toilet are in a separate chamber.
I'm not a big fan of today's standard hotel continental breakfasts, but the Hyatt's here is nicely presented and included fresh fruit salad and fresh grapefuit, plus oatmeal, yogurt, toast, etc. Good coffee in the breakfast room, too. There was a surprise complimentary full breakfast (eggs, bacon) one morning, too.
Housekeeping was unobtrusive and meticulous. All in all, a comfortable stay and I would happily stay here again.

My family and I stayed here over New Year's weekend. The rooms are nicely appointed and very roomy. The free breakfast offers a small variety of foods from hot cereal and biscuits and gravy to cold cereals and bagels. You can also order from a menu for a small cost. There is a nice indoor pool and fitness room which my teen aged sons enjoyed. The staff here was at all times both courteous and professional. My only recommendation would be they furnish a few rooms with firmer mattresses for visitors with back problems. The beds seemed very soft to my husband, my mother and myself. But, as I said, that's a small thing compared to how great the overall stay was.
