My daughter and I ate there a couple of weeks ago. We ate grits and hushpuppies, delicious, and we also had seafood platter and had enough leftovers for my husband to eat off of it later.

“Great Casual Dining / Love that Fish and Grits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Old McDonalds Fish Camp is a great casual dining restaurant that serves fish and grits and hushpuppies and other things. The Catfish is offered as large, small whole catfish or catfish filets. The ice tea is plentiful and the self help grits and hushpuppies are also. There are times when you may have to wait for seating and other times when you will be seated right away. The dinning room overlooks a large pond and this family friendly restaurant also has ducks, goats and other animals for the viewing pleasure of adults and children alike. If you happen to be here during the Christmas Season, they also put on a live Nativity enactment with the Wise Men, the Sheppards and all the supporting cast of this great historic event of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The food is good, the service is good and very friendly.

“Excellent Fried Catfish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

The setting for this Fishcamp Restaurant is family friendly and always a delight for children. The fried catfish comes to you hot, crispy and well flavored. Grits and hush puppies are some of the best we have had. Shrimp is tasty and the overall selection is very good

“Yummy Fried Fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

I went with a large group of people to this restaurant. We had a fried platter and a broiled platter. Our fried platter and broiled platter had catfish, flounder, frog legs and some other things like scallops and muscles. We had all the hushpuppies and grits you wanted. I liked the grits. You could add butter to it, but if you wanted cheese, it was .25 more. I thought the catfish was delicious. Although it was fried, it was fresh, well seasoned, and not dripping in oil or the taste of old oil. It is obviously a very popular place. They do not take reservations. We got there at about 5:20 on Friday evening and had to wait about 10 minutes to get in. When we left, the place was packed. Lots and lots of people waiting outside. If you are in the area and like fried fish, I think you will enjoy this restaurant!

“Interesting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

I like the atmosphere of the place. No, the fish aren't from their little lake. Food is pretty good, but the oil might have needed to have been changed a bit more often. Seemed to give a different flavor to the fish, but my wife thought maybe it was peanut oil Well worth the visit out there. Go early, or you'll be waiting!
