“Bad place for an event”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

The Living History Park is a beautiful place to visit, however having an event there is very stressful. It is definetely NOT user friendly. Lot's of negatives to overcome for the customer. It is over rated and without a doubt the most expensive venue in North Augusta. It does not even have a functional kitchen. There is a kitchen in an adjacent building, BUT only certain caterers are allowed to use it. Their answer is " it isn't up to code". That doesn't fly. If it isn't up to code, then it should be closed to everyone. However, for what they charge, it is absurd that they have no kitchen. The director wants to bully and dictate. All is well until after you pay. From that point on, everything you ask about gets a negative answer and an additional charge. I realize this is operated by volunteers, but they should use some of the money they charge to pay someone to give some customer service. The gate keeper assigned to us was very nice, but could make no decisions without calling the director who was always negative. I say think twice before you rent this for an event.

“Going back in time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

This is great history lessons for all. The people who participate with the shows here are real as it gets. It feels like you have gone back in time and when you walk out your back in the city.

“Travelling back in time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Gave an interesting insight into life at that time. All the volunteers dressed in period costume and were very informative when asked questions.

“Great Field Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

We went for the art fair a few weeks ago with our whole family. The art portion was small but the living history part of the park was just great! We will be visiting during the summer to learn even more.

“Focus on the founders in this actual living history park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

If you've ever wanted to know what it was like to live back in colonial times, this is it. This wonderful park not only contains a church, a school house, gardens, a stream and pond, and some stone and wooden cottages, but also has people that dress up and play the parts of settlers. It's a great place to go wonder, learn and enjoy. Ghost tours, weddings, artisans fairs, they have a lot going on. We learned a lot about the daily lifestyle of the people from those times. What they ate, grew, did for fun and more. I would highly recommend a visit any time of the year.
