Just returned from Myrtle Beach and stayed at Island Vista. It was great! First thing I liked was the fact that the pictures the hotel has online are TRUE and ACCURATE. That is what the hotel looks like and the pools and the beach area are exactly what the hotel has posted online. Considering the fact that so many places show you one thing and when you get there it is different, I respect and am very pleased Island Vista was honest. This hotel is in a quiet area but close to everything you need. The Cypress Room has great food and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Due to the cold rainy weather we didn't experience much of the beach or the pool area but the short time we did use those areas we had a good time. Our room which is actually a condo was big and CLEAN. Clean was a huge concern for us. It was clean and the view of the ocean was straight on, not side view or partial view. We reserved a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. It had a king bed in the master bedroom that had a huge window you can look out and see the ocean. The other bedroom had two double beds in it. The living room has a sliding glass door to a balcony which was nice. Full size kitchen with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and microwave. Each bathroom had a full size tub and was definitely big enough. The living room had a pull out sofa, a chair and a dining room table that would seat 6. Flat screen tv in the living room and a tv in each bedroom. Tons of closets and room to move around. Not cramped at all. Their parking garage has been called tight but it really isn't. No, you can't pull a camper in there but we have a large 4 door sedan and had no problem parking. We saw a lot of SUVs parked it in the garage and they all fit fine. This hotel is away from the ferris wheel and the boardwalk which was fine for us considering we didn't have kids with us and wanted quiet. The ferris wheel and the boardwalk are only a five or ten minute drive away. The area where the ferris wheel and the family fun park and the boardwalk is very crowded. If you want an area that is bustling with people, all kinds of people, and need a souvenir shop and a bar every two feet then that area is for you. We were there on May 5th and it wasn't spring break or senior week and we still saw a ton of young people. Island Vista is a great place to stay and it is a building of condos owned by people who allow Island Vista to rent them out. There is maid service and the restaurant serves a good breakfast and dinner. Because you must be 25 to reserve a room you don't get a lot of noise and partying that can come with the younger crowd. That was good for us middle aged people. If I go back to Myrtle beach I will definitely, no question about it, stay at Island Vista again. Thanks, Island Vista, for making my trip a good one.
