“2nd stay and we'll definitely be back again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

If you're looking for the best pet friendly place in Myrtle Beach, then this is the one for you. All you have to do is look at the percentage of positive feedback and you'll be convinced. As an aside, this resort is rated the third best pet friendly resort in all of the U.S.!! Now that's something to brag about! Yes, there are restrictions (our dog is 13 pounds), but that's part of the appeal. We didn't want to be staying at a place accepting larger dogs so I think 20 pounds seems very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and very professional. The cleaning staff did a really great job in making sure our unit was very clean for the 9 days we stayed here. We really didn't want to leave.
Even if you don't have a pet, I would stay here. It's a very clean, centrally located hotel and one we're looking forward to returning to many times over the years.

Last minute trip to SC and we needed to find a place for pets. Excellent service, good costumer service, we felt comfortable leaving our chihuahua in room, and they even gave treats. The price was great too:). Their off season is October so I assume that's why we only paid around $160.00 for three nights. Overall would highly recommend this hotel for a place to stay, and its right on the beach with private balconies, and miniture kitchen. I'm 100% positive we will use this resort again.

I previously wrote a review on my experience at the Bermuda Sands with our dog. We decided to try a pet friendly hotel with excellent reviews. This place has very strict policies so you need to understand them before you book.
No dog over 20 pounds and no aggressive breeds. (read their website)
If dog barks in room for more than five minutes you are called.
If they can't find you the dog can be removed from room and boarded at your expense
No smoking anywhere on property
Cameras are fixed facing balconies. If caught smoking you get a 150 fine and you have to leave hotel
These rules are the reason I will return to this resort twice per year.
The types of people who come here are so nice, respectful and considerate. The staff is equally attentive. Tiffany took care of a booking mix up so we did not have to change rooms.
The efficiency rooms have all utensils; pots, pans, silverware dishes and even covered plastic bowls! Don't bother bringing stuff from home.
The full size refrigerator, stove and microwave served our every need.
My only disappointment was the hours of the indoor pool. It doesn't open until 9AM and I am an early riser. The manager explained that the pool service couldn't come earlier.
This place is more expensive than other hotels but I would rather cut down on other expenses just so we can enjoy a bit of paradise!

As repeat guests, we arrived on October 16th. I was promptly informed that my dog was too big to be there. Remember - we were there last year. He is a Cocker Spaniel - not a Lab. Mr. Krempel, the Front Office Manager, sighed deeply and said, "Well - you're already here". So - we felt less than welcome. The next morning, I spoke with Mr. Deaton, the General Manager, who made such a fuss over our boy last year for his good manners. He confirmed that our dog was too big. I asked how that could be when we were approved before. He said, "Their restrictions had tightened." Now how were we to know that if we weren't informed? I asked how 2 other Cocker sized dogs were there and also several rooms with more than one dog - when the policy states only 1 per room. He did not want to discuss it. I asked if that meant we couldn't return. He said that we most certainly could - only not with Sammy. Too bad. The location is nice. The suite we had was great. But don't take for granted that "pet friendly" means exactly that. It means that they accept pocket sized dogs only. No cats. We won't be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for an end room. Lots of windows.

We arrived on October 18th,as we walk into the Hotel ,I was impressed with how the Hotel staff took pride and time to have a very oderless ,clean and nice Hotel ,especially when they let you bring your beloved pet along,The frontdesk even welcomes your pet with a complementary doggie treat bag ,that was nice, hardly or actually heard no Dogs barking ,even at night while sleeping, The grounds were very nice,we got the Hotel at a great reasonable rate, plus they don't charge as much for your dog to stay compared to other Hotels ,The Hotel is in a great location, had a great time we will be back ,when we bring our dog Taco,My husband would have like to seen more TV Channels offered ,thats the only thing that was lacking. other then that great Hotel to vacation with or without your pet. THANK YOU OCEAN PARK FOR A VERY CLEAN ROOM
AND GREAT STAY!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Park Resort. Very clean, comfortable, very courteous staff, grounds are manicured. Was glad it was a non-smoking environment but disappointed when sitting on balcony and smelling smoke. The weather was great so left the sliding glass door open all night to be awoken by the smell of smoke. Uk! I will say mattress needs to be changed. Woke up with back ache. Overall great fun weekend.

Room Tip: Perfect ocean view rooms!

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Ocean Park Resort. I compared similar hotels in Myrtle Beach and the Ocean Park had the best value for its price . It has a great location in the southern end of Myrtle Beach, where the hotels are a little bit older, but the properties are further apart. The staff are very friendly, both at the front desk and their support staff. As this is a dog friendly hotel, you should be a dog owner or a dog lover to stay here. There are a lot of four-legged guests, so if you don't mind the occasional bark, this place is for you!
