I booked my stay from 9/21-9/24/2012 and on 9/23 I had gotten a henna tattoo downtown that I didn't like because the paint smeared as I was getting it. The person took my number and we made arrangements to meet the next day for repairs. While I was getting it done I made small talk and had told him what state I came from and which hotel I was staying at. the guy took my number and the next day let me know he had to drive past my hotel to get to work. I was supposed to meet him downstairs, but before I could get there, the owners kicked him out because he was a "large black man" they accused me of being a crack wh' ore, even though I was wearing a dress that was longer then knee length, a cardigan covering my shoulders, and ballet flats, they said I looked like a wh' ore. They used profanity, shoved me towards the elevator to pack my things, and called the police on me without even letting me explain. I was told my beige eyeshadow is what identified me as being a hook er. I tried to explain I had on makeup from being out earlier in the day for breakfast and that a housekeeper had spoken to me when I was returning and could verify my story if they didn't want to trust me as a stranger. I was called stupid for wasting their time trying to explain why the man was there instead of packing as I had been instructed. When the police came they tried to prevent me from speaking to the police telling me everyone was too busy to listen to my lies. I wasn't allowed to remove my food I had in the refrigerator. I was interrogated about why I felt the need to carry an extra cell phone battery and had it implied to me that perhaps it was really something else, or that I must have the spare battery for some salacious activity. I was warned repeatedly not to steal their used dingy towels, even though I had a stack of my own I had brought. once I left the hotel and found a new place to stay I found out my GPS and iPod were missing, which I believe were stolen while I was in the bathroom packing my toiletries and they were alone in the bedroom area with the rest of my things before the police arrived. I have been told by Detective Harlow there is nothing he can do about my stolen property unless he sees one of them with it. However, they were both on my bed when this began, and were not found when I unpacked. Although I was distracted enough I didn't remember to look for them specifically while packing, they are both large enough that had they been on the bed still as I was packing that they would not have been missed. The two owners of the hotel kept repeating that the reason I was being kicked out because of the “big black man” that came to see me, and when I asked if it was an issue of racism/profiling I was told I should be able to tell they are not racist because of the fact they had black people working at the hotel. I personally dont think having black servants disproves my theory, but I was told this wasnt because of racis m, however, again, their first thought for a single white woman to have a "large black man" stopping by a hotel to see them equated to illegal activities, and no one consulted with me before involving the police.

I do not know what to say in response to your ridiculous review other than that I am frankly embarrassed for you. It's hard for me to understand why someone would want to humiliate themselves publicly the way you just did, however after the way you acted while you were staying at the Gazebo I have to say that I am not surprised.

Your entire review is simply outrageous so I am going to be brief. The only truth to your entire statement is that you were in fact asked to leave. We cater to families, couples, and singles 25 years of age and older only. We are a family owned and operated business that strives to provide a quiet and safe environment for our guests to enjoy. Your actions while staying at the our property not only disturbed other guests and staff members of the Inn, you also jeopardized the safety of others with your reckless behavior.
During your brief stay you had several men that were found wondering around the property at all hours of the day and night. All of these men acted in a suspicious manner. None of them knew your true name, but only your room number. Initially we called your room in an effort to protect your safety, figuring that you may have been targeting by someone that may wish to do you harm. It soon became clear that you were giving out your room number to these men for whatever reason. You were spoken to about our concerns for not only your safety, but also the safety of others, and you were warned at that if it continued we would be forced to ask you to leave.
Unfortunately the men continued to come. On the morning that you were asked to leave, the man that came looking for your room once again did not know your name but only your room number. We called your room and you stated that you did not know who he was. At that time we told you that we could not continue dealing with this problem, and that you would need to check out. When you refused to do so, the police had to be called. They stayed with you until you removed all of your belongings from our property.
Once you were checked out the room, you were given a FULL REFUND for the remaining balance of your stay. The police officers witnessed this refund, and we have an endorsed check to prove it. We have no idea what you were doing with these men, nor do we care. We simply were not going to tolerate it any longer here. At no time were you cursed, accused of a crime, harassed, or pushed, nor were racist statements ever made about you or anyone that came looking for your room. Plan and simple you created all of this, we just choose not to allow it to continue. You were given a full refund for your stay, which quite frankly was more that we had to do and more than you deserved. We do not owe you a thing.
