“Best place to stay in Myrtle Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2009

Management and staff work very hard to make your stay a pleasurable as possible. I have been in Myrtle Beach 22 times for vacation and by far this is the best place to stay. I would recommend this resort to anyone. Thanks for an enjoyable stay. See you soon.

Stayed in July 2008, and was going to stay 7 nights this year, but...

The "special deals" for this place are right out of a low-class furniture store sales manual. To see what I mean, on the website choose the stay for 7 nights at a reg rate of 279 a night roughly for angle oceanfront deluxe 2 BR , then open a new window choose the special deal of "stay seven pay for 5" , AKA "free summer nights" and then look for the rate on your nights you don't hget for free, and the rate is 409 a night. What a joke. In fact, pick any of the "deals" and they are more expensive than the simple flat room rate more often than not. Email deals that I received this summer border on bait and switch, with special rates not having dates readily associated with them, and calling a sales associate results in "We don't know which room this applies to, or what dates, sir", but we have a angle oceanfront deluxe 2BR for 279 a night..

I must say, this is a nice place. Indoor water park is great, nice but smallish rooms. We've been a fan of the place even though it's expensive, but the advertising and gimmicks ruin this place. I'll have to try someplace else this year. I also hate realizing that I got ripped off last year falling for the "stay 3 get 1 night free" deal...Don't do it, find someplace a little more honest.

We stayed here the week prior to Memorial Day weekend. Since we were coming from Wisconsin with an 8 month old and a 3 year old I did a lot of reading prior to doing any bookings. We went with Dunes Village Resort. When we got here there were record lows this week. 55 being the high. This went on for 3 or 4 days. So with two kids the beach was out of the question. We went to check out the pool area and here again this was not an option. The week before we arrived, it was warm there so they took all the windows out and there was a constant very cool breeze going though the pool area. There was not one spot in the entire pool area that we could sit and let our little 3 year old swin without freezing her tail off. Needless to say this was a huge disappoitment to us.
The room: We stayed in the palms side. Here again we were very let down. The room was beautiful but dirty. When we arrived there was a huge gross mess down the sides of the toliet. There were 3 light bulbs that needed to be replaced. It took 3 calls to house keeping over 24 hours for someone to come. I finally had to call and talk to a manager to get someone up there to clean the room. We stated in a oceanfront 2 bedroom. Beautiful room but they seemed to clean what was visable. Everything else had lots and lots of dust on. For us this was not a wonderful stay, sure the weather was just nature but the pool and area and house keeping we two areas that the hotel had control of both of which were unacceptable. I have done lots of traveling, not that picky. From what I can figure out there are two sides to this hotel, one seems to have very good house keeping services and the other seems to lack that service....I think we were on the side that lacked that service. The view from the room.....amazing.......

The hotel itself was fairly new and very nice with a pleasant and helpful staff. However, the parking has very much to be desired located across the street and a block from the second tower. They do offer valet parking for $8.00 a day, but who wants to pay someone to park their car at a resort. We require handicap parking and even though the first level of the parking deck is designated towards handicap parking, it's still across the street and a block from the second tower. Bad weather makes this almost impossible for someone in a wheelchair or who has difficulty walking.
The amenities were very nice and kid friendly, but access to the pools and beach was limited and a bit strange. One must go to the end of the buildings to access the pool area or beaches.
We will stay there again because it was so kid friendly and the location was great, but would not look forward to dealing with the parking issues. It was a real hassle to find parking in the load/unload spaces and near impossible to locate a handicap space closer to the entrance where only a few were offered.

This was our second year at the Dunes Village Resort and absolutely loved it once again. This is where we plan on vacationing every year. The rooms are very nice and clean and the staff is alwasy very courteous. The kids have a great time at the waterpark and since you are not in the middle of hundreds of high rise hotels the beach was not crowded when we were there. I can not say enough good about the Dunes, it is absolutley great there.

We spent 5 days in a 3 bedroom deluxe angle oceanfront condo. We were there with our 3 year old son and anohter couple and their 2 year old son. Our boys LOVED the water park. They couldn't get enough of the silly submarine, the kids waterslides and the indoor lazy river. It was so convienent to be on the beach and also have the water park when the boys got tired of the hot sun and sand.
The only negative I could say is that the outdoor lazy river is much smaller than I expected and the current wasn't very strong at all.
Other than that, we had a wonderful time and would definintely go back again.

We stayed here with our 2 kids ages 8 & 10. Don't go by some of the reviews that it was dirty. We just came from DC staying at the Grand Hyatt there, and we found the place to be just fine. I don't know what the other person was talking about when she said it was dirty; it wasn't dirty. It does look nice in person; the pics on the site were taken at night, but it still looks nice in person. We stayed the 10th floor oceanfront queen suite and our room was clean. No complaints at all. The kids enjoyed the lazy river and pool/ping pong area. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
