“Family friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Recently stayed here with my son and dauhter and their families, three small children. Had an ocean front condo which was very spacious. Thanks to Valerie and Missy who facilitated a room change for my daughter's family. Had a great time.

Room Tip: Worth paying for the ocean view.

Thank you for taking the time to review Dunes Village Resort. Your title sums it up...."Family Friendly" is what we are. With over 30,000 square feet of water park area, including adult sized slides, the entertainment is covered. With year round scheduled activities for all ages, there is never a dull moment. Music by the pool in the spring, summer and fall. Movies on the lawn in the summer. Excellent food in both of out restaurants. It is the perfect venue for a family vacation.

Thank you again for staying at Dunes Village Resort. We are so glad you and your family enjoyed so much of what we have to offer. See you next time!

Thank you for taking the time to write about your Dunes Village Resort experience. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed what we have to offer.

The Captain's Cafe is our lunch and dinner restaurant, and it offers a nice variety of food at a resonable price. Our head chef has plenty of talent and puts together the tastiest treats! Jasmine is a top-notch server, making sure you have all your needs met. She is pleasant and fun to interact with. We are glad she made an impact on your vacation.

We hope you get a chance to come see us again soon. Thanks again for staying with us!

Just returned home two days ago from a four-night stay at Dunes Village Resort. The hotel itself is very nice, as well as the employees. My room, which was a 2 Queen Oceanfront, was clean and comfortable. This was the first hotel I stayed at anywhere that had a jacuzzi tub and a washer/dryer set in the room (and they worked properly), so I considered that two exta bonus points. Breakfast at the Admirals Room was very good each day I was there. Ocean view from 14th story balcony was great. Parking garage across the street very secure.

I knew going in that this resort was very kid-friendly, and as I expected there were plenty of kids there, even despite it being a new school year in the off season. So for all the solo/couple/business travelers keep this in mind if being around lots of kids is an issue (not for me - sometimes LOL).

Overall I had a very nice stay, and would not hesitate to recommend to others, especially those with children.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the ocean view and not as much noise from the pool area below. Go...

Our units are nicely appointed, with washers and dryers in most room styles, plenty of cooking supplies, jacuzzi tubs in some models, and wonderful views of hte beach. Our staff is the best on the beach - and I am not just saying that.....plenty of other reviewers have said it for me, including you!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Dunes Village Resort. We hope you find your way back this way again.

A great place to stay with a very friendly and a courteous staff. Does not get an excellent, a cold snap came just days before we arrived. The indoor play areas are only indoor when they put the glass in to inclose the areas other wise the cold night time air blows right thru the entire indoor pool, slide and play areas. They do not totally inclose the indoor play areas till next month November. In the newest tower all the pools, slides, lazy river are heated in the older tower (where we stayed) the water was not heated. we also stayed on the second floor with the hotel next door's pool house (pump) was at our window. If you go request a higher level room and a room with a balcony facing the north. We are already planning our trip again next year going back to the Dunes it was a very nice place very clean, and well maintained, with lots to do even on cold rainy days.

Room Tip: ask for a higher floor room also ask for a room facing the north not the south, to the south is a ho...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at Dunes Village Resort. I am glad to hear that you plan on returning. With so many things to do around our resort, it is just an awesome place for a vacation.

FEMA law does not allow us to completely enclose the water parks before the end of hurricane season, so that is why the enclosures were still out. The climate in Myrtle Beach is so mild that this is usually not an issue. We keep the water in both parks heated to 86 degrees, and the outside pool and lazy river on the Palms deck is also heated. The only water feature not heated, other than the ocean, is the pool on the Palmetto pool deck.

We appreciate you staying at Dunes Village Resort, and we look forward to having you back soon!

This hotel was nothing short of wonderful. I have two sons, ages 4 and 2, and they loved every minute. The rooms were very nice and clean. All the staff was friendly and willing to help in whatever means necessary. The pools, indoor and outdoor, were very clean and had plenty enough room to handle the large number of guests at the hotel and everyone have enough room to move around. The lines for the water slides weren't long at all, and the kiddie pools were perfect. There were great daily activities for the kids, along with numerous activities such as putt putt, a playground, super-sized chess and checkers, wii, ping pong, shuffle board, and more to keep the kids entertained. My family has found our vacation spot from now on, and may invest in a time share in the future. Really a wonderful place!!

Outstanding hotel right on the beach. We had a 4th floor balcony facing the ocean..........Very nice suite with all appliances. Since it was first week in October, rates were unbelievably low.... Pools inside and out with water slide and lazy river pool all for the kids... Forgot how great the beach is @ Myrtle Beach. Soft beautiful sand warm water....just the best. Restaurants were wornderful, no need to go anywhere else. Southern hospitality at it's finest...

This was our first stay at Dunes and I will definitely go back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. We had an oceanfront balcony which was just amazing...we were allowed to smoke on the balcony also which was nice. Plenty of parking just across the street in a garage. For families, lots of activites for children including a waterpark. The restaurant & bar downstairs was convenient...good food at reasonable prices. Was disappointed the bar closed so early...would be nicer if it was open a little later. Overall a great place to stay.
