“Beautiful property, spotless room and amazing service!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

I can't say enough about how pleased we are regarding our choice to stay here. The room, hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. We were checked in and out flawlessly and with such kindness. We were on vacation with two young children.
Our room, a two bedroom deluxe was spacious, clean and had a fully stocked kitchen that left us feeling very at home. The beds were comfortable and the rooms beautifully decorated.
We had great views of the waterway and really enjoyed watching the boats while having our meals out on the balcony.
The breakfast at their restaurant was pleasing, with good service and decent portions.
The pool and pool area, both inside and out, were well maintained with good temperatures.

I was thrilled about the level of service. I was so grateful to the staff for really making us feel welcome and for their kindness. We misplaced a few items on the deck and by the ping pong table and they were located and tagged and waiting for someone to claim at the front desk. The management was covered everything possible to allow families to relax. There is even a great activity program for the kids to participate in.

We were sad to leave and would highly recommend this hotel. We will be returning. Thank you Marina Inn and Grande Dunes for such a warm welcome and a flawless vacation.

Room Tip: Worth the extra money for a two bedroom, very spacious.

What we liked best about the Marina Inn is their staff - unfailingly helpful, friendly, and welcoming at all times, from the front desk to the parking valets to the catering staff. We just returned from a stay there for a business conference (plus a couple extra fun days added on).

The atmosphere of the hotel overall is plush and elegant but not stuffy, and the rooms themselves are simply but very nicely appointed with super comfortable beds (ok, the pillows could have been a little bigger for a king-size bed, but now I'm nitpicking). The bathroom was gorgeous marble and tile with separate tub and shower, very spacious. In fact, the bathroom was nearly as big as the entire hotel room from our last stay in Manhattan (no exaggeration). Our room faced the Intracoastal Waterway, and we were able to watch boats, jumping fish, and even a wedding from our balcony.

Our experiences with the restaurants, especially the Anchor Cafe, a great spot to sit and enjoy the breeze and a nice drink, were also very enjoyable. Good food, reasonably priced for hotel hotel restaurants in a resort town, served by nice, friendly people.

Room internet service was consistent and reliable, no problems at all.

There's a very nice supermarket across the highway if you need one, and it's really a short drive into MB proper and any kind of restaurant you could possibly want.

If you don't need to be in the craziness down on the boardwalk, and you're looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing hotel with plenty of amenities at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. We're looking forward to returning in October!

Dear Maledicta: Thank you for your review of your recent stay and thanks for being so thorough. Our staff is our greatest asset and will be gratified to hear your feedback! You also mention our large bathrooms, beautiful views of the Intra-Coastal waterway, Internet consistency…etc. By the way, you are right about the Anchor Café…you found a locals hangout which is rare in beautiful Myrtle Beach. Having dinner and watching the boats…there is nothing better whether your travels are for business or pleasure. Thanks again for all your kind works. We’re excited to have you back in October…if not sooner. All the best, David Nelson, GM

My husband and I recently stayed at Marina Inn for a long weekend. It was our first trip to Myrtle Beach, so we can't compare this property to others in the area, but we really enjoyed our stay. First, the hotel is very big, but it never felt crowded. It is situated about 5 minutes from the beach and between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. We thought we'd mind driving to the beach, but it was so simple! They offer a shuttle to and from the private beach, but we just drove ourselves as there was plenty of parking. The service at the beach with the complimentary towels, chairs, and umbrellas was amazing. The pool and grounds at the hotel were also very nice.

Some of the downfalls and why I am rating a 4:
-The morning coffee and afternoon snacks disappear quick and never get replenished.
-The food at the beach wasn't appealing. It comes from what appears to be a food truck. They do sell beer though which was quite nice. I'd advise packing your own lunch.
-The hotel doesn't offer a quick breakfast option.
-The restaurants at the hotel aren't open between meals which makes it difficult to grab a snack. However, the food we got from the bar was very good and relatively cheap considering the amount we got. The main dinner restaurant closes at 9, which is a little early for us...if you find yourself in the same situation, walk over to the Anchor Cafe in the marina. It's a chill bar food place and would be a great place to watch the sunset.

Overall, a very nice experience!

Room Tip: Request a room facing the marina so you can watch the sunset.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay and I am so glad your stay was enjoyable and relaxing. Your comfort and enjoyment is extremely important to us and your comments are helpful so we can continually improve. The morning coffee and afternoon snacks are being monitored…thank you for your observation! The chef’s team and I recently reviewed our menu and presentation at the beach cabana. While it is a bit more casual right on the beach, the food will be of the same quality as the hotel…we have added additional supervision to insure consistency…thanks to your input. Between meals the pool bar provides both food and beverage throughout the day until 5 and the lobby lounge – Reflections also serves beginning at 2.
Once again, thanks again for your great feedback and we look forward to your return soon!!! Best wishes for a wonderful summer! David Nelson, GM

So.... I normally read quite a few reviews prior to booking a trip. And one thing I know for sure is that diffrent things weigh out heavier for others. Because I had a great stay at the Marian Grand Dunes. The view was so nice. It's such a peaceful place. I was there for Bike Week and I had tons of fun. There was some crudery (hood-ness)there but not enough to bother your stay. I assume on a diffrent weekend it wouldn't be as busy. But the landscapping was nice, bed was pretty comfortable, food at the cafe was good, somewhat expensive but there are like 4 restaraunts to choose from all around one hotel included Ruth Chris. I had a really nice stay and this is the place I plan to stay every year if it is within reasonable prices. I love a good deal!

Wow!!!! This hotel is amazing!!! From the time you pull up to the front to the time you check out, you are greeted by the friendly staff. IF not staying on the beach is ok, this is the place to be! Easy access to Broadway At the beach and Tanger outlets located on hwy 17! I called the hotel reservations after finding a deal on a popular travel site and asked if they could match it and they did!! Room was a Baltic Suite with balcony that overlooked the river/marina/pool. Air condition worked great!

I didn't use any of the restaurants or bars on site. The pool looked nice and relaxing. Everything around the hotel was very clean and tidy.

We will be back to this place! Loved it!

Beautiful, wonderful location, clean, and friendly service! We stayed 1week and loved it. Even on rainy days we had plenty of entertainment at the resort. pools & hot tub were large and not crowded. We will be back. Kids enjoyed it more than any other places we have stayed.

complaints I have is that the bottom of the shower had really long hair left in the drain and that the shower head only half worked. I'm guessing that maybe this is why we got this room at a discount but it was still pretty expensive. . So attention to details should be important. Otherwise a very nice place to stay. We will be back again more than likely.

Dear Kristin,
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am glad you enjoyed your visit and would consider returning. We have an ongoing inspection process to deal with hard water buildup in all shower heads. We will address this again immediately…thank you for bringing this to our attention. Also, careful inspection of all drains was discussed at this morning’s housekeeping stand up meeting…reminding the entire team of its importance. Once again thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and we look forward to your return in the near future! All the best, David Nelson, GM.
