Rented a condo from Tom Devoe on VRBO and loved it! Originally had rented another, only to find the first folks had double booked their unit-leaving us in a bind AFTER they deposited my full payment check, so was sure nothing decent could be found with only 3-4 weeks to go, but was pleasantly surprised to find "Sand Castle in the Sky" on VRBO, and even saved myself over $400 for the week. This unit is newly redecorated, spacious, beautifully luxurious, with balconies galore and views of the beach, lake and pool. 2 Bedrooms with new beds and bedding, 2 baths, a fully stocked kitchen and a huge flat screen TV in the living room made my family so happy-I thought my teen would never leave. If renting thru Kingston or Hilton, you get whatever unit they give you for more money-rent from the owners and see your unit before you go-the Devoe's were wonderful and everything was top notch and clean, very clean. Very competitve rates and no key hassles with a keypad locking system , plus no hidden charges make this the place to go in MyrtleBbeach!

Do not even consider this hotel.
There are too many great hotels in Myrtle Beach where your room key works and your wallet is not stollen from your room.

My husband and I and our two older daughters visited K.P. in May for a long weekend. We stayed at a two bedroom lakeside villa in West(?) Hyde Park and could NOT have been happier! We had a 3 minute walk to the ocean but a beautiful secluded lakeside setting when we wanted to relax. We could also walk to the Hilton pool for a change of pace and restaurants. The villa was great - plenty of room for us four and we were able to accomodate a traveling friend from Virginia for a night with no problem. Felt like our own home.

I think that one reason you'll see some bad reviews is due to the fact that they are condos. They are individually owned. Most owners, however, give the resort the option of renting them out so they can get some extra income. Thus, not all of the condos are of the same quality and decor. If you want some consistency, try either the Embassy Suites or the Hilton Myrtle Beach (both part of the same resort). This was my 6th stay at the resort and wouldn't even dream of staying anywhere else in Myrtle Beach. The strand is far too congested and full of annoying tourist traps. Kingston Plantation is a short drive from whatever you'd like to partake in, but offers some secluded privacy. I have stayed in several villas and the Brighton tower, and was very pleased with every visit. The staff has always been friendly, my condos have always been clean. The beach is always clean, as are the pools and water park. There is on-site entertainment, a snack shack and poolside bar, in-season you'll also find pool attendants/waitresses. If you're a family on vacation, I would highly recommend this resort, there's something for the kids and the adults.
