“Kingston Plantation by Palmetto Vacation Rentals - Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

We stayed there for 6 nights at Richmond Park Villias. We booked via Palmetto Vacation Rentals due to good price for 3 bedrooms. The plantation is nice, and in gated community. We wont know which condo we will stay until the day of check in. We had to pick up the key from other location. One we stayed in Richmond Park, the condo is ok, and the beds are not fully comforted. I guess I would expect the price we paid for. We cant use water park because we booked via rental agency. No grill there as well. We probably will not stay again next time, unless the price is very good for 3 bedrooms when no condos can match its price. I like to stay at wyndham ocean blvd, right front at beach. Or we could stay at embassy or hilton hotel which in right beach, and can use water park, etc. A lot of cookwares in the condo are cheap, and easy to break, so be careful w them. Be prepared to pay 195 to 205 dollars for cleaning fee. Make sure you can stay there at least a week to make worth when considered included cleaning fee to your total price. If you just want to stay one or two nights, you are better off to stay at hotel, since you dont have to pay cleaning fee.

This property was very nice and convienant to the beach. When we first arrived we had to check into the embassy suites and initially there was a guy behind the desk on the phone. I think his name was James he was the only man working the desk that night. He totally avoided eye contact with us and just refused to help us at all. I think a customer waiting in front of you takes precidence to someone ramdomly asking about potiental future visits. He was just rude and based on his behavior I was hoping that the rest of the people at the property were not like him. Luckily everyone else was great. The room was great, clean, spacious, decorated nicely it made you feel like you could stay forever and we didnt want to go home. The condo however, wasnt on the beach but the beach is literally on the property and it was soooo nice and clean and quiet. So relaxing. This was a very relaxed and calming atmosphere that I will probably return to. One draw back was the cleaning crew was very sketchy and pretty much came when ever they felt like it and when we arrived there were some dirty dishes on the bannister leading up to the condo and when we left the very same dishes were there. Maid service is not so great here they do come and make the beds and I believe vacum but dont expect much else. lol

Room Tip: ask for a room that is closer to the beach but not near the pool or the tennis court. I saw people...

My family and I stayed here for a few days in early May. We stayed in a 2 bedroom oceanfront condo in Brighton Towers. Very nice indeed. Bedrooms were on opposite sides of the condo so was very quite with the living area in between. Very large place. Would definitely stay there again. The pool area opened up at 10 in the morning, because the pool guy didn't get there until 9:30am to clean the area. I thought that to be a little late considering it is in a vacation area and beachfront. This is why people go there. Maybe they should rethink that time a little.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views! Dinner at the new restaurant in Embassy Suites and Cafe Amalfi in t...

Still, very rude checkin. This will be my last! Stayed at Kingston Plantation 3 times in 6 months. Condo had 3 live spiders. Condo in poor shape. But nothing compared to the rude, curt checkin by the female. Remodeled

Had a quick 3 day stay in Myrtle Beach two weekends ago before Biker Week and Memorial Day killed the ambience. The unit was close by the gate, on the ground floor, right next to the shallow pool. The unit showed its age(1980+ or-)but was well furnished, comfortable, and clean. The price was right through Hotwire and the on site amenities(especially the heated pool in the nearby recreation center)and the pools, game rooms, and recreation sites(water park) in the Embassy Suite and the Hilton (available to Kingston Plantation guests)were great. Located in the Arcadian Shores area of MB near the Premium Outlets and WalMart and the Coastal Mall on one road and the Galleria and Restaurant Row on the other. The housekeeping seems to be a problem with almost no one speaking English. They "invaded"our condo our first day and started to clean it and had our stuff piled up in the living room ready for disposal. Luckily I came back to the condo to pick up my sunglasses and discovered the problem. I finally got through that we had two more days and they needed to leave us alone till then. Also, Hilton ran my credit card for the price of the room plus security deposit after I had paid through Hotwire. It took 11 days to clear the accounts and get back the funds. This is getting to be a real problem with staying anywhere and turned out to be a little more so with Hilton. Overall, however, a nice stay!

Room Tip: If you do Hotwire, always call the Hotel before arrival check on the unit assignment. This has save...

We have stayed at several of the Kingston plantation option. We do enjoy the Embassy suites it is the most conveniently located and includes a free breakfast.
We have stayed in several of the villas which can be hit or miss. Many still have 80s decore. But they always provide plenty of room and we have not had any problems.
Most recently we stayed in the North Hampton Tower room 1007. It was very modern very spacious and we loved it. The North Hampton also has an indoor pool which was ideal since the weather was a bit cooler during our stay and we were able to let the kids swim. You do need a separate key to get into the building as well as a separate key to get into the indoor pool. It is the furthest away from the actual embassy suites and the water kids water park however it was the nicest condo we have stayed in so far
The Kingston plantation is great for families with kids who won all their entertainment close by. It is probably not ideal for young people looking for parties.
