“Glad to find it open Christmas night! Open and ok!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

We shared the sampler. They have a sharing charge of $5 which kinda pisses me off but they take the pain away by giving you a extra salad. The salad was nothing special but was ok. The sampler of the different 'worsts' was good not great and the temp of meat at serving time was Luke warm. At least serve it hot! The cost of the asst wursts was $19. It was enough food for two granted but please serve it hot. The kraught and german potato salad was good. The beer was very good and the quantity to cost was ok at @$6 each. 4 people split 2 meals (same dish-both) 2 beers and one cocktail one wine for $87. If we all would have had the sampler it would have been 4x20 for just the main course . $80 would have been way to much . Over all the meal was good not great and not hot. The price was high for what you got. The pumpernickel bread was was hard and maybe not fresh. Not trying to break their collective balls cause it was edible and they were very nice.
The guys serving were so great and even funny-a brother team whose parents started the place years ago. They try hard. Maybe attention to detail like hot homemade food.

“Not to be Missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

My wife and I stumbled on Bodos one night, while doing some restaurant "window shopping." It's kind of funny. From the outside, this place is not very impressive. We sat in the car and debated whether to go in or not. I am so glad we decided to take a chance. Walk inside and it's like going into a friend's living room. The potato pancakes are excellent. So, is the variety of sausages. It doesn't hurt that the proprietors are very friendly and love to share the history of the restaurant and their family.

“Delightful Treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

Bodo's is fantastic! I had great German beer on tap, and a delicious wiener schnitzel with excellent German potato salad. The service was top notch, and friendly. After a day on the golf course in Myrtle Beach, or just walking the beach, Bodo's tops it all off like no other!! I will be back again and again!!!

“Tourist trap”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

I really question the good reviews about the food that are posted on tripadvisor. We started with the potato pancakes that were descent......but $14.95. Two in the group had the sauerbraten and it was absolutely disgusting. It was smothered in thick, lumpy, dark brown, and tasteless gravy with a few tiny pieces of meat. They also questioned if it had been microwaved. Another member of the group had the rouladen and said it was ok, but salty. I had the wienerschnitzel. It was nothing more than a round frozen patty heated up. All of the sides seemed straight out of a can and the spetzel was boiled out of a bag. Not homemade. Plain and simple the food is bad, real bad. Do not be fooled. It is not authentic German food.

Outside the food being horrible, the atmosphere is fun with the crazy decor and music. The family that runs the restaurant are really friendly and take care of you. Maybe a place to have a beer?

Make sure you are aware of the tip being added into your overpriced bill. Four people=$160 for canned frozen German food......come on.

This place must survive by ripping tourists off and selling beer.
