I frequent Brother Shuckers with my wife, and we've always have had an amazing time. I have never left a review on trip advisor but thought I would show a little appreciation seeing as I glanced over the comments and saw a few reviews that did not reflect the integrity of this restaurant. It is quite obvious these individuals who actually took the time out of there life to put someone down have never worked in the restaurant business. I find it amazing how well you folks are doing in the current recession as our current president aimlessly spends our tax dollars. Very impressed, As a former server, cook, and restaurant manager I know how hard it can be in this type of business. I also thank the Lord review websites like this didn't exist when I was a waiter I would have lost my job five times over. It's a great business to be in especially when you have a good staff, people like to forget that most waiters and waitresses have multiple jobs and/or are in high school or college have bills and live's outside of the swinging doors. One review said they left a note on the table and hoped that he had learned his lesson, how ignorant could one be? How do you know what that person was going through maybe he just found out about the death of a loved one, but your probably right that little note probably did teach him a lesson. I've had just about every server at Brother Shuckers and thought they were outstanding. It was impressive the few times we made it in over the summer to see how the few servers on were handling a full restaurant without table bussers and still helping the host with seating. It's funny how I still realize these things even after being out of the restaurant business for ten years. Then we made it in one time in November when it was a little slower and we were amazed at how personable our server was. He had nothing but good things to say about being employed there. I loved the few poor comments about the food, I laughed as I read them. I would like to spend some time actually speaking to them, really frozen seafood? That could not be a serious statement. They must spend 4 hours every time they go grocery shopping looking for a pond to catch their fresh fish. I'm also guessing they do not know that as soon as fish are caught they are put on ice. It's obvious that Brother Shuckers has quality food. It's not McDonald's the food is actually prepared by a chef, meaning it won't be the same every time. My apologies to Brother Shuckers for ranting in your reviews, as a former restaurant GM I felt the need to stand up for one of the few restaurants I look forward to arriving at. I would recommend this restaurant to any one visiting Myrtle Beach and to the locals, make this one of your regular places even if just for one drink, you will enjoy the atmosphere. We will be making another visit very soon.
