“Amazing place to be refreshed .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013 via mobile

This is an amazing place to replenish your "batteries"....The sound, the smell and breeze from the ocean is like a soothing balm to both body and spirit......The staff were more than helpful..how could they
not be.....in such a beautiful place...i know many friends that leave the States to go to the Islands.....I've told them they have the "Islands" in their backyard!

I would highly recommend this resort to families, friends of all ages. This resort was clean and prompt on room cleaning, and anything almost we needed. We have visited other resorts at South Myrtle Beach, and, the beds were hard, the lay of the beach was totally changed. In this area, the beach was wonderful in all aspects. More like we used to remember the beach and ocean years ago. It was convenient to shopping, dining., which made this a plus for us.

Several resorts have changed, or haven't improved on room, beds, tv's, and cleanliness. I would give this hotel a 5 star.

Room Tip: We loved the 12th floor we were on in the North Tower. We hope to bring our family from out of town...

The resort is really nice with great pools, hot tubs, and lazy rivers. Good location. The staffs really nice. The only issue I have with this place is that when you go to the beach and have your own umbrella, you have to stay behind the paid umbrellas. During our stay, the umbrellas were setup at high tide, so there was not much beach behind the paid umbrellas. Everyone is packed together and then there is a stretch of 50 yards with just sand until you get to the beach. It is strange to me and not a lot of fun being packed together.

Thank you for your patronage as a returning guest and for the compliment about the staff. In order to not obstruct the lifeguards view of the ocean they ask that umbrella's stay equal to or behind their stand. Although this can limit the space to sit at high tide they are looking out for everyone's safety. We look forward to serving you in the near future.

We have stayed at Sea Watch several times over the years for family get togethers. The grounds, pools, hot tubs, and general appearance are excellent and well maintained. They are constantly working on something. Unfortunately, this unit - 304 in the South Tower - left a lot to be desired. We had an awful ant problem that was discovered the first morning when we found the counter top covered in ants. The master bath toilet needs a new flapper so the tiolet tank refilled itself about every hour which was a major issue during the night, there was not a frying pan, no oven mits and we found out at check out that we were suppose to get fresh kitchen towels and dish clothes every morning which we never received. Bath towels had to suffice. We called maintenace abouty the ants and the toilet. They sprayed around the kitchen but the ants were back the next morning. We just kept all the food in the refrig and smashed ants whenever we were in the kitchen. By the last morning the ants were even in the bedrooms. Obviously a serious problem. We were told at check out that an outside exterminator would be called in - did not help us. Maintenance adjusted the chain on the toilet rather than replacing the flapper so some nights my husband slept in the living room. All of these issues are unit specific. Although the unit has granite counter tops, the carpet is torn and the furniture is stained. Some of the problems we had were specific to the unit, not the complex. I did not demand to be moved because we had 5 people that would have to pack up and one was 88 years old. We had requested North Tower since that was where the rest of our extended family was staying. We were told at check in that they could not accomodate our North Tower request - the reservation was made several months ago so I do not understand why a unit was not put on hold. When I told them that one of our party was 88 and would have trouble navigating from the South Tower to the North Tower, the answer was to give me a brochure on wheel chair rentals. This is not good customer service.

Room Tip: The rooms in the North Tower received sun most of the day. The South Tower pools are shaded by early...

It is always upsetting to hear that we failed a guests expectations of their vacation at Sea Watch Resort. I sincerely apologize for the lack of customer care and the unsatisfactory unit conditions. I hope you will give us another chance and I would like to personally handle your reservation.

We just got back from a 4 night vacation. We picked Sea Watch based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, especially those reviews that said it had a good breakfast buffet, since we like to start the day with a full breakfast so that we don't have to worry about leaving the beach for lunch. The breakfast indeed is great. Marvin does a wonderful job with omelettes and waffles. Both the waitresses we had during our stay were great, and Tracy especially helped our day get off to a good start. We had an updated king bed room on the 10th floor in the North Tower and it was fine. So for a vacation in September this hotel is a good value. The location is especially good as it is located very near the Tanger Outlet.

Thank you for letting others know about much you enjoyed your Sea Watch Resort vacation and especially for mentioning Marvin, Tracy and the staff in general. You can't beat our location when it comes to convenience for shopping, restaurants golf, shows and entertainment. We have some really great rates during the holidays that you can also take in a show or two. Hope to see you soon!

We enjoy this property. Although the rooms are a bit outdated, it is one of the nicest looking places on the beach in Mrytle Beach and we really aren't there to spend a lot of time in our room anyhow. The pools and hottubs are great and grounds kept nice. We choose to go after Labor Day to avoid crowds and children. The only setback with that is that the restaurant closes for lunch and dinner after Labor Day forcing us to leave the property and giving us less time to enjoy the shorter days on the beach.

After Labor Day is a great time to come to the beach. We continue to work with the individual unit owners to replace and update furnishing as necessary and the slower months allows us to get more accomplished. Thank you for returning to Sea Watch for a second year in a row and I hope your September visit becomes a tradition for many years to come.

Our daughter and her fiancé finally set a date and choose Sea Watch Resort for their destination Wedding. Our suite of rooms was wonderful, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. We were on the 17th floor with fabulous views. The staff was great, letting us into our room at 8:30 in the morning after we had driven all night to get there. The pools were fun, as were the lazy rivers. The beach was great also, the ocean was the warmest I have ever enjoyed in the Atlantic. The staff involved in the wedding planning etc went above and beyond and everyone had a fabulous time. Mary Ann helped with all the pre planning and Mike was wonderful help on the day of the event. The food was delicious and everything went without a hitch. Thank you to everyone at Sea Watch who helped make this a wonderful wedding/vacation.

Room Tip: As there were a lot of us here for the wedding, I can only suggest that I heights are not an issue t...
