Starting with checkin, everything was handled professionally and courteously. Rooms were well maintained, spacious and well appointed. Wi-fi through out the resort was a big plus. The food at Martin's was very good. The golfing experience was handled so seemlessly I thought I was playing a private country club every day. When it came time to check out the bill was accurate and timely. I completely enjoyed my stay at Long Bay.

  • Liked — Every room had an ocean view
  • Disliked — Had to share one bathroom for two bedrooms

Our golf group has been going here for 6 years. Its central location is ideal for getting to most every course in the greater Myrtle Beach area within 45 minutes or less. The 3 bedroom oceanview condos are all roomy and clean and you can't beat the inexpensive buffet breakfast in the morning before heading off to your golf course destination. The hot tub and the short walk to the beach is great. The golf director, Kristina, is extremely helpful and responsive to all our group request for tee times, room bookings etc.

  • Liked — Central location to golf courses and the high rise condos on top floors
  • Disliked — Don't like the rooms on the parking garage level

I called a month in advance, with specific requests to accomidate my father who is disabled and cannot walk very far without using oxygen. We have stayed here many times and enjoyed it. We were familiar with the layout of the rooms and hotel so we requested a room on the 2nd floor near the elevators and snack bar and also overlooked the pool. I was told the week we wanted was bike week and no rooms were available so we changed our vacation to later in the month of Oct. and was guaranteed the room we requested. I confirmed twice with the staff member over the phone before paying the deposit because some problems occured with rooms during our stay back in June. "No Problem" she said.

We went to our room and it overlooked the parking lot with rails on the balcony so tall you could not look over them. It was as if you were in a cage or prison. I complained and was told they had no rooms available and I was wrong because their staff cannot guarantee any rooms. OMG! I must have imagined all of that! The manager would not even come out of the back room to speak with us. Finally we were told we could be moved on Sunday. We had to wait 2 days in a room we didnt want. We could not unpack because they only move you, not pack you up and move you.

The second room was nice at first. Clean, nice view of the pool and ocean, but the toilet stopped up and leaked out from under it. We called but nobody came. We had to go down and get a plunger ourselves and just place towels around the base of the toilet the rest of the week. then the pipe under the sink burst and the pathway through the kitchen living room was flooded. The leak was fixed quickly but the water in the carpet had a very bad odor and nothing was done to fix it.We walked on wet nasty carpet the rest of the week. Then it turned cold and we turned on the heater and went to sleep to be jolted awake by the fire alarm ringing and smoke in the room. Not good for a disabled man with a heart condition! It was 4am and 35 degrees outside and we had to open all the doors to let the wind blow the smoke out of the room. Noone came to the room once again!

Not one time did any member of mgt. appologize or try to make up for the many problems we ran into this trip. We were informed this was a popular golf week and the residents who owned rooms came this week and we had to be moved, so basically, we were unimportant to them because their upper class guests who owned rooms and bought golf packages were at the top of the list. This was our first stay at the Long Bay Resort and I must say I was impressed. The entire resort is extremely clean and well maintained. The front desk staff checked us in quickly and happily answered all our questions. When we got to our room we realized we needed some extra washcloths, pillows and blankets. Informed the front desk and these items were brought to our room quickly. The housekeeping staff is friendly and efficient. Every day we saw the maintenance men working and doing preventive maintenance to keep the place in top shape. You just don't see this at other places. Over the years we have stayed at other places up and down Ocean Blvd. but none are as nice and quiet as Long Bay Resort. We really like this quiet, less crowded area of Myrtle Beach. The Starbucks in the resort was a big hit with with the adults of our group and everyone liked being close to the River City Cafe next door. Will be coming back again!

This was the first trip to Myrtle Beach with my husband and three boys. I had no clue what hotel to stay at but after reading a lot of positive reviews about Long Bay Resort I decided to try my luck. I loved it.

I have nothing bad to say. The staff was friendly. I called two seperate times to request extra blankets and each time they were delivered within five minutes with a friendly face. The rooms were clean and my boys loved the lazy river, and heated swimming pool.

I loved the attached parking garage and the Starbucks in the resort. I loved the oceanfront room and short walking distance to the beach. The weather was great and all the attractions were not too far away.

I definitely recommend this resort and look forward to staying at Long Bay again.
