Very friendly staff. Especially the concierge lady.I stayed in room 562 and it smelled like a smoking room even though there was a no smoking plack on door. The furniture in living room was dated and smelled like feet. Box spring covers were disgusting. The shower never could hold a perfect temp. When showering it would be fine then all of a sudden the water would get extremely hot and it did that repeatedly.pool area was great. Views were great. And location was great. Just wish room was a little better. And cleaner.

Thank you for staying with us at The Long Bay Resort and taking the time to write a review. It is always nice to hear wonderful comments about our amazing staff! We take pride and strive for perfection with A+ Customer Service. We do take all reviews seriously, and I do apologize that we fell short in perfection with your accommodations. All of our rooms are non-smoking and we are presently looking into the issues you encountered while staying with us. We are in the process of renovating and updating our resort, so to keep on top of the normal every day wear-and-tear... We are very excited to have many changes for the present and future and to be the best vacation stay on the beach. We do hope you come back to see what we have to offer and stay with us for an amazing vacation stay to go back home and tell your friends.

Up dated rooms .Free dvd movies. Restaurants are great.starbucks nice.,Lots indoors things for cold weather. close to things to door. love buy one get on free on shywheel Quite .Close parking,Room service great. been gone there many years.And will keep going..

This year we decided to return to Long Bay Resort for Thanksgiving. I will begin by saying that we have vacationed here almost every year for New Years or Easter since 1998. The resort was always clean and reasonably priced. I was very disappointed this trip. We were in condo unit 851. Upon check in I found a blood stained pillow in the 2nd bedroom closet, sheets in the master King bed did not cover the mattress, a previous guest left a ziplocks bag of snacks in the master bedroom side table drawer, food crumbs were on the kitchen counter behind the coffee maker. The unit looked like it had been surface wiped at best. I decided since it was the night before Thanksgiving to make the best of it and clean the unit myself. In the morning-- housekeeping did take the bloody pillow and gave me a set of appropriate sized master bed linens. When getting ready to make our coffee I was appalled to find the coffee maker full of old coffee grounds and mildew. Tried to clean it by running about 5 cycles of just water, but it did not work. Thank goodness there was a Starbucks downstairs! Our boys who are now in their early teen years did enjoy the pool (I did not get in). I would seriously have to rethink reserving another stay here. There are many other options in Myrtle Beach. This is a resort that is looking worn and needs more attention to detail with regard to cleanliness and upkeep.

We stayed at the Long Bay Resort Thanksgiving week. We got a great deal that included the all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Our room was pretty clean. The staff was friendly and the amenities were nice. It wasn't the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed at but it wasn't gross, either. (The shower and tub were very clean - hugely important to me!) The buffet breakfast was a hit with our 12-year-old son. The made-to-order egg bar was nice and they had a good selection of hot and cold foods. The lazy river and pool were in need of a cleaning. They use salt water, not chlorine, which for us was a good thing but the chemicals sure do keep the pools sparkling a bit more. Our son had fun with the large chess and checkers set. It's great, they close the lazy river and pool and hot tubs off so they can be used in the winter months. Overall a good stay and would probably stay there again.

The King size bed was in a separate bedroom and the living room had both a sleeper sofa and a murphy bed. The beds were quite comfortable and were clean. The kitchen was nice and fully stocked with dishes, cups, silverware and pots and pans.

My biggest disappointment was when I called ahead to try and find out where our room was. I did not want an obstructed ocean view and asked if being higher up would be better. The gal on the phone put us in an 11th floor room. When we got there, it was right behind another building, which made our ocean view not so pretty. Apparently, the first room we had would have been right on the beach, no obstruction whatsoever. I wish she had let me know that. I tried to explain we didn't want an obstructed view. We didn't let it ruin our week, though. We still had a great time.

Room Tip: If you want an unobstructed ocean view, make sure you state that clearly and tell them, if they put...

This hotel was great. I read the reviews before coming and wasn't sure what we would get but I must say, we will always be coming to long bay from now on. This place was great and the pools were the perfect temperature! There are multiple hot tubs so you never feel too crowded and the Starbucks is a huge bonus.

Yes, "Don't look any further"... And we want to thank you for choosing Long Bay Resort for your vacation stay here in Myrtle Beach. During these colder days and nights in Myrtle Beach, it is always a pleasure to still be able to enjoy our heated pools and to get into our many hot tubs for relaxation.. a getaway from every day busy lives we lead. And yes it is always a must to stop in at Starbucks throughout your stay to keep your blood pumping. The restaurant andcsrarbucks was very nice. Had other people from other places at our hotel they don't check or enforce the wristbands. Noise of slamming and knocking on doors in middle of night. Didn't see many staff other than at front desk. Too overcrowded won't stay again.

We do stay quite busy here at Long Bay Resort, as we have an amazing resort with many loyal and returning guests.. and we would have loved to hear that you would be one of them as well. While we know the accommodations were not what you were hoping for, we are so glad you were able to enjoy Starbucks and our restaurant . We do have many staff members on sight throughout our resort, as well as security to help with any issues; so please know, we will work hard to remedy the issues you encountered.
