“Nice place to stay with wonderful amentities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

The weather was perfect but even if it wasn't. the pool and lazy river is indoors. Everything was pristine. The staff could of not been more efficient and friendly. There was water aerobics and the gym is small but sufficient.

The snowbirds seemed to have several activities that kept them busy. We will definitely be back at Longbay next January.

Room Tip: Request ocean front not ocean view

“Best hotel for the money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

This is the 3rd time my husband and I have stayed at the Long Bay Resort. We decided to stay here again because its very reasonably priced, very clean and has good amenities.

Room: We stayed in an oceanfront 2 Q suite. Beds are in the rear next to parking garage. The 3 times we have been there it hasn't been a huge deal for the parking garage to be right outside the doors. Two out of 3 mornings were fine. One morning someone's alarm went off and we heard kids yelling, but no big deal. There is the fan/AC/heat unit you can turn on turn to drown out any noise. Bedroom has a closet, luggage rack, nighstand, dresser, mirror and TV. Only complaint was that the bed wasn't that comfortable. Laying on right side, my leg kept going numb. Middle of the room was the kitchen and bathroom. We really didn't use the kitchen since we were only there for 3 nights. It has a full size stove, fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and sink. They supply a dishcloth, cutting board and dish soap. I didn't look in the cabinets to see what dishes they supply. Kitchen and bath area is tiled. Bathroom has a countertop with sink, mirror and hairdryer. There is a separate door with toilet and shower. Good water pressure and temperature. Living room had a murphy bed in the wall, arm chair, loveseat that I think pulled out into a bed, TV on a smaller dresser, DVD player and a table and chairs that sat 6. Balcony was normal size with 2 chairs and a small table.
Pool/hot tub: Great warm indoor lazy river (a bit small, but good). 3 nice hot tubs, heated indoor pool and sauna. There is a very large outdoor pool and large hot tub. Towels are supplied in the area. There is also 2 ping pong tables, shuffle board and large chess and checker boards. Only thing is that if its cold, you have to go outside to get to a restroom. All pools and hot tubs were clean. First night not quite warm enough. Asked maintenance to turn it up and it was very toasty the next night we went.
Other amenities: laundry room, game room, bar and grill, fit shop. Didn't use any of these except game room, which is small.
Food: There is a Starbucks and restaurant, but we did not go to either one.
Parking: Parking deck is in the front of the hotel as described above. Plenty of parking this time of year. As with all garages at the beach, height is low as you go up. 7 ft max, but there is parking for high tops on the first level.
They were doing some maintenance when we were there which we hardly noticed, but good they are keeping up everything. Manager told me they were replacing carpet, painting, replacing kitchen cabinets and countertops.
Overall, I would recommend staying here. Broadway at the beach is only about a 10 min ride. Barefoot landing is just a little longer going north. Its in a good location.

“Wonderful, affordable winter getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2012

We spent this past Christmas holiday at Long Bay Resort, and had a wonderful time. The resort is beautifully located, literally steps from the beach. From our balcony, we could look see and hear the ocean waves coming in each morning and evening, which was very relaxing and beautiful. The pool area is really nice with a heated indoor pool, several heated whirlpools, and a large outdoor pool and additional whirlpools. I absolutely loved being able to walk downstairs from our room and be steps from the beach... I can only imagine what a great place this would be to stay in during the summer when the weather is warmer. We stayed in the two-bedroom suite which was nice, but the kitchen (kitchenette) is very (very...) small. You can definitely cook in there for your family if you need to, as we did for the whole week, but you'll be a bit challenged to find the counter space you may need. While there, we visited the 3-bedroom apartment on the higher floors, and were very impressed. We'd love to return to Long Bay again, but this time we'll definitely go for the 3 bedroom with the full-sized kitchen. The resort has a great location if you're looking for restaurants and places to eat, and you're only about a block or so away from the nearest fast food restaurant or Food Lion. This place is a serious bargain, and is well worth the winter rates we paid. We were very pleased with the wonderful customer service we received, and will definitely return again. Can't wait to revisit in the summer when the water's warm and the beaches are full!

“Great Value”

Very nice hotel for the money. We would stay here again most definitely, especially in the winter. Very nice area, and the assortment of things to do is great.

Room Tip: Be aware that the Savoy building is in front of main building. So make sure you still have a room wi...

“Winter Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

My family and I have stayed at Long Bay for years. The off season staff and faciliies at the Long Bay are just as nice as peak season. Our room was very clean and up to date.
