“Best In Class Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

This is the first time we had ever went to Myrtle Beach. I have lived in the upstate all my life and have always loved the mountains. We decided to make a change and go to the beach. We had reserved a hotel for three days for our 8 year anniversary. Needless to say that hotel messed up our days and had pretty much ruined everything. The Best Western Grand Strand Ocean Front changed everything for us. The absolute best stay we have ever had. The cleanest and nicest place we have ever stayed in. Just beautiful suite. All of the staff was exceptional. The Veiw spectacular. We plan on going back later this year and you can bet we will stay at The Best Western Grand Strand. Love this hotel. I will never be able to thank them enough for making this one of the best wedding anniversaries we have ever had. Looking for a five star hotel, this one is it.

Room Tip: Best ocean front view. Corner suite is excellent and fully furnished. Great value for the luxury we...

I did a lot of research before booking and went through a search engine to book. After booking I spoke with the staff and found that I should have booked directly through them for several reasons including cost. After arriving we were very pleased with the location and the room, very clean and taken care of--maintenance people were constantly out and about maintaining the property and serving guests needs. We stayed on the non ocean side and it was great, nice and quiet, with a short walk to the beach. The breakfast was exemplary and Teresa was amazing! I had never been to Myrtle Beach, and the staff completely eliminated any worries or concerns or questions. I have been in the service industry for 20 years and the service I was given here will insure that I will not be researching any more hotels for our next trip to Myrtle Beach. We were extended top of of the line service even after we checked out of our two day stay and I WILL BE BACK--Love, Michigan

Room Tip: Do not go through a search engine for cheaper rates, it is kind of a hassle---Just call them directl...

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your kind words, especially from somebody with experience in the service industry! There are plenty of hotels to chose from in Myrtle Beach, and it means the world that your research would lead you to my property. I'm so glad that you felt that it was the right choice. We can't wait to see you next time!

Needed time away and booked 3 nights at Best Western Plus Grand Strand. It was amazing! The moment we walked in, we knew it was perfect. The balcony faced the ocean and the room was clean and well maintained! I would stay again in a heartbeat, and have told others about it! You won't be disappointed!! We LOVED it! Thank you!

Room Tip: go at least to the 3rd floor to be above the trees and get a great view!

Traveled both to relax with family, and visit family who live in nearby Market Commons. What a convenient location on Ocean View Dr.! The room was very clean and comfortable (I did not hear anything from our neighboring rooms while we were there), and the free breakfast each morning is not to be missed - the ladies who coordinate it are wonderful. And that's what stood out to me the most - the service. Every person I encountered in the six days I was there was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make sure that my family had what we needed. I have to say I was not sure what to expect with my first time visiting Myrtle Beach, and during the summer vacation season, but I was thoroughly impressed!

The Best Western Plus Grand Strand Inn and Suites has immaculate rooms that are right on the beach or rooms you can rent at a little lower fee across the street. Our family has stayed at both location. With seven grandchildren now, a high rise hotel would be a nightmare. We rent the 6 floor Penthouse and two queen rooms right on the beach. It has only six floors with fast access to the beach and indoor pool. It is easy to walk just across the street to the outdoor pool and lazy river. We all love the breakfast that comes with your room. It is way above average when it comes to choices and quality. My two sons and son-in-law love the new fitness center. It is a family friendly hotel, with a well managed and trained staff. If you stay more than a night, you will definitely see the manager/owner. He is on site making sure everything is in working order.

Room Tip: If your party has two or three couples traveling together, rent the beach front Penthouse. The bedro...

We booked a semi-last minute trip to make up for not having done anything as a couple for our last two anniversaries (nursing newborn kinda spoils the fun). When we arrived and saw the layout (looks like about 80% of the rooms are across the street from the beach, about 1 block walk), we were a little concerned. From the outside, the facility looks a little sketchy, which is par for the course for Myrtle Beach. However, our first surprise which was to be more the norm for the facility was the elevator worked beautifully, quiet and fast. Our room was small but immaculate, exactly what we needed (except we would have loved to have a microwave). The TV had a DVD player, and the picture quality was excellent and everything worked. The air-conditioning seems to turn off or back off when you're out of the room, but it brings the room under control again within minutes of returning. The lazy river is small (but fast and relaxing), the outdoor pool is small, but deep and quite pleasant, the outdoor hot tub is acceptable, the indoor pool is normal sized for the area and the whole pool area is clean, and the indoor hot tub was cool but very clean. Every pool except the lazy river has handicapped lifts to help them in that were all working and in good repair - we didn't need, but it showed a very conscientious attitude. Basically, the facilities aren't AMAZING, but they are pleasant and clean, and well maintained.
The trek to the beach from our room was longer than we'd like, and the view wasn't all that much to write home about, but we knew that when we got the good rate we got. The front office staff was extremely helpful, with good suggestions for restaurants and entertainment (other than one major bomb that I reviewed - Bummz was a Bummer), and a very helpful and efficient attitude. We asked if we could checkout late (on a Thursday, not expected), and they asked nicely if we needed the room or just a place to change. We wanted to play a little longer at the beach, so they suggested using the bath facilities in the indoor pool area, where there were fresh towels.
We LOVED this option. We packed up then played for hours, then took showers in the very nice, very clean, well maintained showers, with shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers and bar soap, hair dryers, fresh clean towels. In short, exactly what we needed. The manager/owner was very pleasant and helpful, sharing experiences and going out of his way to make us feel welcome.
And I must mention the free breakfast. They call it a continental, which made me expect some lousy pre-packaged pseudo-cinnamon rolls and juice. Oh no, they had scrambled eggs, fresh waffles, french toast (which we kept missing, but we heard they were good - darn early risers), fresh biscuits, quite a few varieties of cereals including oatmeal, breads, rolls, orange, apple, and tomato juice, skim and 2% milk, water, tea, coffee. The servers were awesome, acting like this was a sitdown restaurant, refilling drinks, offering food refills or to start waffles for us, taking away our plates when done. We begged them to offer lunch as well - it was that good.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side face a street and the ocean is blocked by a Hampton Inn, not much of a view...

My wife originally booked a 4 day stay at the Sand Dunes Resort on 74th street. After our luggage was brought to the carpet stained, missing floor tile, mold ridden bathroom, disgusting two bedroom suite we quickly got on line to find somewhere else to stay. Called the Best Western and spoke to Betty at 9:30pm. Checked in by 10:00pm and couldn't have been more pleased. Rooms were clean, beach was convenient, pool was clean. Wife and kids were very happy to be in a clean hotel. I spoke to the owner the following morning to make sure he understood the situation my family was in and that Betty was extremely helpful and pleasant and gave us a tour of the room before we checked in. The owner explained that he was still renovating and getting new carpet installed and that it was his fathers hotel originally. I like the fact that I had the chance to speak to a small business owner with a vested interest in his business. This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and what began as frightening ordeal checking into the Sand dunes turned out perfect.

Room Tip: Room 1216 has two separate bedrooms, each with its own bathroom separated by a kitchenette.very conv...
