I stayed there during June.Had stayed there several years ago and it was fine.This time,it was disgusting.It stunk inthe rooms,they were dirty.I took my 10 yr, old daughter and her frind because it was advertised as a family resort.Not true.Awful profanity,I complained several times.I asked for refund but was told rudely no!I couldn't believe the stinch all over the whole place,inside and out.Very nasty and dirty.I don't see how this place can stay open!Pools were nasty,bed was dirty,I would rather sleep in my car.I fely safer.They had a security guard but he was to busy talking to the young girls.I couldn't believe I had wasted my money on this roach trap.Complained and even wrote to mgmnt. but still haven't heard from them.I will never stay there again.They lost a good customer.I stayed ther several years ago and it was wonderful.I don't understand what happenrd.They should fire everybody and start from scratch.Don't stay there.DISGUSTING!!!!!!

I went down to myrtle to see the ocean and drink some beers Sept 4 & 5. This Hotel is just like some of the reviewers said, "You get what you paid for". This definitely not a family hotel and is only best if you dont plan to hang out there. the elevator is very old, definitely not what you'll be used to. The room was okay but our friends tub didnt drain well do to sand in the pipes. The shower curtain bar is not bolted down so watch out. The balconies can be dirty. The stair wells may have some offensive smells. The Hotel is worn down and needs some cleaning. If your used to nice and cosie this hotel will not be good for you. If you want to save some money and plan to be out of the hotel most of the time it'll be OK(thats what i did). When people complain about the staff being rude its usually because they were making complaints about things that i have pointed out above. If you know what to expect before you get there then, there's really nothing to complain about. If you just pay the extra 10-20 dollars a night you can definitely find a much nicer hotel. You should know that they dont give out irons which can be a problem if you plan to hit up some bars(wrinkled clothes). Truth be told, If I ever go back to Myrtle Beach I most likely will pay the extra 10-20 a night and go to another hotel unless i go just to get wasted. Hope this review helps.

I stayed here at the Poindexter cause i am on a tight budget. OMG I would NOT recommend this hotel to the poorest of people. After staying here I was so upset and disappointed. This was my fiance's first time to Myrtle beach what a memory huh. They say they have 5 pools they do they have two indoor pools one that is right inside the checkin lobby the other in the building beside it that supposed to have a waterfall in it but it did not work. those two pools went to i think 5 feet the one outdoor pool for adults went to 8 feet the other two pools were kiddie pools that were 1 foot deep but i would not let my dog swim in any of them. They have 3 hot tubs two outdoor ones did not work and the one indoor one smelled filthy of urine. The algae growth in the pools makes you wonder if the filters work or not. Now to my room omg filthy does not describe it i had a oceanfront room room number 249 there was no carpet on the balcony it is right above the pool so no privacy it has three chairs but you can barely move on it. The inside of the room was filthy i was scared to walk barefooted in it the hole motel smelled of urine and other smells i cannot describe the stairwells were slippery when you came in from the ocean or pool the elevator doors barely wanted to shut you had to jump to shut them and the kitchen in the room was horrible the handle on the refridgerator was broken and the skillet was all burned. I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN it is not worth the money i spent i left there friday on check out day and went to the Landmark and stayed that night it was awesome i will go back there.

This hotel is the dirtiest place that I have ever been. The floors were so digusting that we wore our shoes at all times, and wouldn't let our 15 monthold daughter walk around the room. The halls smelled awful and were dirtier than the room, if possible. We checked out 2 days early after prepaying on the web, but after seeing housekeeping cleaning rooms with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths we couldn't take anymore!! If you are going to Myrtle Beach to party and get drunk then maybe passing out there isn't as bad. For them to advertise as a family resort is the biggest joke I have ever heard. I would have rather slept on the beach!!!!
