Stayed here last weekend for a cheerleading competition in the convention center. Since the hotel is connected to the convention center it was very convienent to be able to go the the event for a short while and then return to our room instead of having to get in the car and travel back and forth several times a day. It was way too cold to enjoy the beach so the lack of proximity to the water was not an issue for us. The rooms are very nice with super comfy beds, fluffy comforters and lots of pillows. We had a room on the 12th floor so the view was beautiful. The upper three levels are club floors, so we had access to the club room which provides snacks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. There was not much in the way of choice for either, but for a light bite to get you started or keep you going it was fine. Housekeeping was very pleasant - the woman servicing our floor made a point of greeting us by name each morning.
The only problem we encountered was there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke when you first entered our room. The first night I was sneezing for over an hour. The front desk got testy when I asked if the room had ever been a smoking room (they said "no").
I guess we got used to it - although we could still detect that characteristic smell each time we entered the room.
Resturant was fine - good food and service and decent price.
We will stay next year for this competition.

The Sheraton worked out great as a weekend respite from the daily grind. As the title indicates , the highlight was definitely the beds. On numerous occasions, our plans were superceded by just laying in bed , watching TV and ordering room service.
While the location is great, centrally located just off the beach, you most likely would want a car to get around. Plus, though a $5 a day charge is added for parking and was mentioned at check-in, we were not charged upon check-out. The garage is listed as a major drawback in many eyes, but I did not find it a big deal at all.
The staff was very helpful and friendly offering to grant room requests if they had availability.
The biggest drawbacks were the amenities. The fitness center was fairly small and the equipment worn. The pool and jacuzzi were clean ,but not quite large enough for laps. Also , with only one of each, there were not many options if crowded.
As previously indicated, the rooms were very nice. With great beds and a nice marble countered bathroom. The view off of one side is not remarkable at all, while the other offers a stunning ocean view on higher levels, though no balconies are available. If you book through a service like hotwire, you will most likely not be able to have oceanfront, so if it is a desire, pay the extra to insure your view. However, the way up-side is that I booked my Sat-Mon stay for $59 a night on hotwire!
Overall, I would give the hotel a 3 1/2 star rating, not quite comparing to 4 stars in most cities I've stayed. However, in Myrtle the Sheraton might be just what someone is seeking

We stayed in the hotel in the firtst week of february 07. They let us keep our dog with us and were very friendly. The food from room service was excellent. It is the third week in february now and we are on our way back this weekend. I couldn't do much since I had the dog, but the hotel was so nice, I still had a memorable experience. Will be even better this weekend!!!!!!!!!

I received reasonable non-seasonal rate from a discount service, but this hotel does not live up to its 4 star booking. Rooms are average for the beach, and charges are made for parking and internet room service. The beds are adequate, however. Unfortunately, I had something personal missing from my room but found after contacting guest services for two days, that I was on my own. The experience? Not what I would have expected from Starwood or Sheraton
