“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is a great location and great value. Oceanfront view from private balcony was perfect. Staff was great. Beds were very comfortable. Perfect location to walk to shops, Starbucks, and restaurants. We took advantage of three of the hotel's preferred restaurantsand got a 10% discount at each. We had a two bedroom condo and had plenty of room for for four adults to stretch out. Would stay again.

The hotel is right on the beach. You can't beat the view. The room was an actual suite. It had a pull out couch in it. The staff was great. We had our toilet over flow causing a bunch of our clothes to get soaked. These clothes were left on the bathroom floor because they were dirty. When I called and told the front desk they said they would reimburse us for the money it took to launder the clothes. I would stay here again.

Fantastic value. Room was a one bedroom, sectioned into a bedroom (2 queens, 1 flat screen), bathroom, kitchen (full-size refrigerator and oven with four-burner top, overhead microwave, sink, cabinets, kitchenware), living room (dining table, couch-bed, flat screen), and a balcony. Great view of the Atlantic, very clean, new appliances in a well-stocked kitchen. Great location just a short distance from the north end of the boardwalk. Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Indoor pools were heated, containing a lazy river, hot tub, kiddie pool, and a average-size pool. Outdoor pools were under maintenance. Brought the family and appeared to beat the Spring Break rush. Very satisfied with the quality and value of the stay. Unlike some, this hotel earns its 3-star ranking. (If you're past your teenage years, avoid spending too much time on the boardwalk! Get out and see what the area has to offer!)

Room was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. All rooms have ocean view. Kitchen was complete with fridge, stove, oven, dishes, silverware, glasses, coffee maker (coffee sugar etc included), iron, hair dryer. Bedroom is when you first walk in the door then there is another door leading to a the kitchen that you can close for privacy . Another door on the other side of the kitchen leading to the living room. Two big flat screens were in each room. Sliding glass door with balcony. Pools were nice as. Lazy river was too cold to get in but other pool was heated. Hot tub is rather large and hubby loved it.

I went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend (Mar. 8-10, 2013) for a surprise trip with some friends for my husbands birthday. I found Camelot by the Sea on Orbitz and it had mixed reviews but the price seemed reasonable for the time of year and I figured I would give it a shot. When I had arrived we were checked in quickly and the man working the front desk was very nice and friendly. We were put on the "penthouse floor" room PH05 and I loved it. Our room was just a standard suite (one level above the studio suite), and it was perfect for the weekend. The view was breath taking and I could have sat on our balcony all day! Also, we knew the room had a kitchenette but weren't expecting our room to be fully stocked with silverware, plates, cups, pans etc. so we brought them with us. And when we arrive we found that it had everything we needed. The room was clean, beds comfortable (especially the pillows!) and the living room and bed room area had a flat screen tv in each. The couch was in need of a replacement, but it was nothing that affected us negatively. The only downfall about this place is the parking garage, and its only a downfall if you have a larger vehicle and park on the upper floors. But again, this is something that I understand is unavoidable due to limited space. Lastly, because it was still the off season and cool outside the outdoor pool wasnt open but the indoor pool was and it was very nice and hte hot tub was very large. I will be returning to this hotel for my next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Room Tip: If the view is a requirement for you request an upper floor.

My husband and I were absolutely satisfied with hotel service. Our room was clean, it was quite( aparently good isolation), and cozy. We are planning on coming back with our friends))) We like the indoor pool, reasonable price for this time of the year. We had ocean front view and it was amazing. We love to come occasionally to Myrtle Beach with my husband. And spring is wonderful season.

We stayed at this high rise hotel for a couple of nights in connection with the Bi-Lo Marathon weekend. Most of the beachfront hotels in this area of Myrtle Beach show some age and wear & tear, but this one is definitely better than average. Our king oceanfront suite was nicely furnished, with fridge, microwave, two flat screen TV's, etc. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was standard, but fine. All of the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful (not always the case in Myrtle Beach). There's no restaurant, but a Starbucks across the street for breakfast, as well as other places for breakfast within a short walk. The pool and indoor lazy river are nothing special, but OK. The hotel has a large on-site parking garage with ample spaces---a real plus. The location is within walking distance of the convention center and the attractions of the central district of Myrtle Beach. Overall, a better than average place to stay on the beach.

We had a special marathon rate which included breakfast and one pre-marathon pasta dinner at a sister hotel (Patricia Grande) down the street. When I made the reservation, I was told that this restaurant was just a short walk from the Camelot, but the walk was 3/4 of a mile. Also, they could have been more knowledgeable about the traffic situation during the marathon, as the race route ran right in front of the hotel. But these issues obviously are just related to this weekend.

Room Tip: They are all beachfront rooms with balconies. We were on the 16th floor, with excellent views.
