“Nice Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

This was our second stay in two years at this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights (Fri,Sat) in a two bedroom two bath suite. The room itself was nice and clean, some blemishes here and there but clean. We had six people and were a bit cramped. The view was awesome! Breakfast on Saturday was nice, french toast sticks and sausage. The food was good but they could not keep up with stocking it. Need two workers to do that, I guess. Breakfast on Sunday was awful! Square pellet eggs and sausage gravy...just horrible. The eggs tasted nasty and they need to serve a breakfast meat with the eggs, not sausage gravy. Again on this morning they could not keep up with restocking it. I mentioned our displeasure to the staff at the desk. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean. The staff we came in contact with was very pleasant. The hotel has several pools, a kiddie pool area, 2 lazy rivers (only one actually had power to push you), and two Jacuzzis. All seemed clean and well maintained. Our 8 & 9 year old's loved the pools! The access to the beach area is nice. I wish they would have some spot lights on the hotel building that provided some illumination on the beach at night. There were several lights out in the pool area (north side) both nights even after I called the desk to notify them the first night. Overall this hotel is very nice and we will definitely be back. I hope they fix some minor issues I mentioned. I would recommend to all....one of the better Myrtle Beach hotels.

Room Tip: Request rooms in North building, it is the newer one. Higher the floor, better the view

The staff are helpful and friendly. Everywhere you go they smile, greet and offer to help.

The place is very well maintained and you would not know you were staying at a beach front hotel except for the ocean, the beach, the pool etc. Close your eyes and you could be downtown.

The room and beds are clean and comfortable. We stayed in suite which has a kitchen, so you could cook, but we did not. It is nice to have the full size refrigerator, microwave, and dishes so you can store snacks and beverages.

The breakfast is typical Hampton, but the staff kept the area well stocked, clean, and greeted us with a smile.

Overall you can not get a better value in Myrtle Beach.

Room Tip: Get one with the ocean front view.

After the wonderful reviews, we may have set our expectations too high. We checked in on a Wednesday, one hour early without any problem. The view of the ocean from the lobby can take your breathe away. Our room was on the 8th floor and the view was impressive there too. We had a 2 bedroom, 1 bath room. It was spacious. It also needed some tlc. The shower was moldy and the bathroom was missing tile. The living room had huge discolored stains on the wall. The furniture looked and felt worn. The deck had an amazing view but needed painting. The free wifi would come and go and I would have to reconnect 3-5 times an hour. It is right on the beach so access to the beach is quick and easy. Parking is under hotel in a parking garage. There were always spaces. There are several pool and lazy rivers. Out of the 5 days, there were cigarettes put out on the ground around the hot tub three days. The pools were frequented by smokers which make it uncomfortable for non-smokers. Not sure of a solution there but area is large maybe could have separate areas? Breakfast was included. It is served 6-10. We ate three days around 9. It was very crowded all three days. The first day I made a waffle then looked around to see no toppings. I asked the attendant and was told they have regular waffle toppings and pointed me to a bowl of syrup. The scrambled eggs were cubed shaped. There was fresh fruit every day and yogurt and pastries. It wasn't the best but, having breakfast included is such a money saver, it really just needs to be ok. I guess that is how we found most things, ok. Yes the ocean was spectacular but the ocean was the same for all the hotels.

The hotel is beautiful however the room is cramped for a family! Front desk isn't friendly especially in the morning! What happen to the southern hospitality? The breakfast hot items are disappointing. Eggs and grits on Sunday. And the waffle didn't taste good either! We have always stayed at an Hampton when we travel but we will go somewhere else next time in MB.

As soon as we walked into the impressive lobby and saw the spectacular view of the ocean through the very, very large windows, I knew that this was a special hotel. Our roomy suite had the same great view, but from higher up. We enjoyed the views, easy access to the beach, restaurants, and shopping.

Guests receive the typical Hampton Inn wonderful breakfast and comfortable rooms. This property is right on the beach. Get a room with an oceanfront balcony & enjoy. There are many enjoyable common areas to relax, (and a spa), including cozy sitting areas with flat panel tvs and fireplaces, a great balcony with rockers overlooking the ocean, several pools, two lazy rivers and hot tubs. Fabulous.

This is a great hotel on the beach with large pool/water area. It's very nice for Myrtle Beach, as there are not a lot of decent hotels in the area. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite and it was large enough for a family of 5 to be comfortable and able to spread out. Would highly recommend.
