“Back again and even better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Second visit (last time back in October 2012). It didn't seem possible but it was even better. Service, food and price just can't be beat as this restaurant is an absolute stand-out experience compared to the countless Mrytle Beach diners and fast food establishments. Thanks and see you again in October!

“A Real Gem for Locals AND Visitors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

To call this place a Japanese Hibachi would be a disservice. Mickie and Stanley have put together a menu to appeal to all tastes. Add in their Daily Specials and you have a great choice. This is off the beaten track, so there is no ocean view or other attractions, just really, really good food. As normal, my wife and I shared the meal since portions at most places today are far too large for just one of us. We started with Tempura Fried Soft Shell Crabs (2 in the order). They were crispy on the outside and lushly creamy inside. We followed that with Filet, Shrimp and Scallop Ichiban. It's cooked on the flat top and accompanied by vegetables and, for us, fried rice. Excellent! The beef was fork tender. The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection; not over or underdone. It's no wonder that this place is a Tripadvisor favorite.

“Great Food & Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

TripAdvisor's #1 rating drew us to this interesting little hibachi-style Japanese restaurant. We were greeted like old friends and received outstanding service from our server Allie. She took time with us to describe six unique and tasty dipping sauces for the chicken, steak, veggies, etc. with our combo meals. Everything was fresh and delicious including the soups and salads. Either "noodles" or rice (fried or steamed) is offered along with dinner. Unless you really enjoy boiled angel hair pasta, opt for the rice. To deserve Myrtle Beach's best rating, this otherwise A+ hibachi restaurant should be serving Japanese noodles.

“Out of the way-yes! Worth looking for-no way!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

Looking for a place that might be quiet on Easter Sunday and with its #1 rating here we decided to try for the early bird special which had been recommended here. (By the way our brand new Garmin GPS could not locate this restaurant-got directions at a gas station) At 5:20 we were the only patrons and it stayed that way till we left at 6:15. Our server Paige was fantastic-explaining the 4-yes just 4 items on the early bird-and brought out a sampler of all the available dipping sauces for us to try. We were very disappointed with the portion size-it was well below average even for a luncheon portion. Vegetables were few and the hibachi steak really was not an adult portion. Very disappointed.

“out of this world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

I will go no where else for hibachi food. The best of the beach is right here! The price is reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The staff and owners make the experience enjoyable and make you feel at home!
