I would have given anything to have read these reviews before I stayed in this dump!! Sooo many people giving this place terrible reviews can't possibly be wrong. Just remember that. My family and I were IN TEARS on this vacation, all due to our stay at the Paradise Tower. After arriving back home, I emailed the General Manager (Mr. Paul Williams) twice and even sent him a certified letter, outlining our concerns. He didn't bother to respond. Just goes to show what type of "resort" he's running. We will NEVER go back to this or any resort run by Paul Williams....a manager who cares about nothing but collecting your hard earned vacation money!!!
On a side note, don't let their website fool you. Here's a quote directly from their site: "Opened in March 2002 this new facility boasts a host of new amenities". This resort WAS NOT BUILT in 2002! It's probably 30 years old, if not more. They obviously bought it from someone else and then opened it themselves in March 2002. Extremely misleading if you ask me. Don't go here excepting a nice, new, clean hotel. Far from it!!
A few examples of what we endured:
1.) Filthy Pools, with things floating in them during our entire stay.
2.) Pot smoking guests on our floor during our entire stay...clouds of smoke every time we got off the elevator. Our children are 1 and 3...not the type of environment for kids. (management said there was nothing they could do about it.....give me a break. Call the cops! After all, it is illegal!!)
3.) Parking garage was ALWAYS full. We had to park across two streets and attempt to carry groceries and two small kids every time we went anywhere. (By the way, their parking garage is across the street from the hotel, so it's not convenient in the first place.)
4.) Rooms are disgusting. They reek of smoke and who knows what other smell. Carpets are nasty, kitchen utensils smell (we refused to use any of them) and overall the rooms are completely rundown.
5.) The wait for the elevators would sometimes span 10 minutes or more. They are extremely small and take forever. The lobby where you wait for the elevators is so small that you feel like a sardine while enduring the never ending wait.
6.) There is nothing appealing about this so called "resort" except the view. But hey, you can get that view from any hotel on the ocean!
