Wouldn't subject my family to this place again. First the good (this is short) -> no surprises at check out - no additional charges, movie rental was charged appropriately, no complaints. Now the bad. We stayed in the tower next to Paradise tower. Old, old, old room - old carpet, old dressers, old beds, old bath, sliding door was so corroded and old no one in family but me was strong enough to actually open and close the door.
Overall summary - dirty pool, dirty lazy river, old, old, old hotel that badly needs to be refurnished, and staff that aren't too concerned about your experience in their hotel.
We were on an upper floor - you need to be in good shape because the elevators TAKE FOREVER. We ended up just walking up and down the steps frequently.
Day 1 - my child gets shocked as he touches the light switch in the bathroom. I call management, they send up a maintenance guy who checks the switch and says there is no problem. I inform him that properly grounded switches shouldn't shock someone and he just shrugs his shoulder and leaves. My child touches it again and gets shocked again. I call the front office and they are indifferent - won't change our room, won't fix the switch. We leave the switch on for the rest of our trip and just don't get near it.
Day 2 - We actually wait for an elevator for the trip up because carrying a cooler, beach chairs, boogie boards and misc other things up 9 flights of stairs gets old quick. As the elevator hits the 10th floor it stops HARD. And nothing happens. Bad sign. There is a phone in the elevator - we call the front desk and they send a maintenance person to get us out of the elevator. As he manually opens the door, he comments that this is the same floor people got stuck on earlier. No one asked our names or apologized for the inconvenience.
Day 4 - We're leaving - parking is in a separate structure across the street and the structure is so narrow two cars can't pass each other on the turns - one always has to backup and let the other pass. Since it is a Sunday LOTS of people are trying to get their cars in front of the building on a fairly busy street - the tower has a small turnaround with two lanes in front of the building. One lane is blocked for 1/2 hour by some inconsiderate people in an Acura, and the other lane is blocked by a Breakers golf cart. I go to the registration desk and ask if they could please move the golf cart so people can actually get in and out of the turnaround - they look at me like I have two heads. They eventually send out a Breakers security guard who asks me why I want the cart moved. I thought it was fairly self evident but I explain the situation to her - if the cart is in the way, people can't actually use that lane to exit the turnaround. She looks confused and says "but we always park the cart there". She offers to move the cart for me so I can get thru, but doesn't understand the concept that taking up one of the two lanes during checkout time isn't very guest-oriented.
Lots of places to stay in Myrte Beach - this is one I would avoid.
