My wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Myrtle Beach Hilton Resort. We both really enjoyed it. The room was great. We chose the Bounceback Vacation deal which gave us each a breakfast buffet for a $10 increase in the daily room rate. Since the buffet normally costs $11.25 each, this was a significant savings.

The buffet in the mezzanine level restaurant was terrific (overlooked the pool and ocean). Cook to order Omelet bar with belgium waffles and a very large assortment of foods on the buffet. Turned out be be an excellent value and also very good. It also included coffee, tea, milk, juices, etc so it was all inclusive. I would highly recommend this option, which is running through year end 2005.

As far as service, we had no problems. Check -in was fast, concierge service helpful and one of the engineering staff helped me repair my watch band, which broke while I was in Myrtle Beach.

The hotel is located in northern most Myrtle Beach about 5 miles south of North Myrtle Beach. This makes it much quieter than central Myrtle Beach locations but also puts it within a very easy drive to Barefoot landing, Broadway on the Beach, and the Alabama Theater.

I had no trouble finding the hotel. If going North on 17 (Kings Highway) it's a right shortly after you pass the Carolina Opry (The Doll House on left, CVS pharmacy on right).

The Hotel has a live band outside on deck, Wed thru Sunday. The band while we were there was very good. The beach in front of the Hilton is much less crowded and actually quite pleasant because the population density where the hotel is located is much less than hotels further south.

We would definitely stay there again. I've stayed in many, many hotels and hotels in resort areas can be noisy, crowded, dirty, etc but, the Hilton was a breath of fresh air.

Try it, you'll like it.

Not only did we stay the week of July 4th (the busiest week EVER), we had a 100 person wedding and reception at the Hilton!

Liana, our wedding coordinator, who has an office in the Hilton, was great! She was organized, professional, and ran a tight ship. I never worried about a single detail! We used the Hilton's Dunes Ballroom and had a pasta station, a HUGE salad station, turkey carving station, and dessert selection. Everyone raved about how well the food was prepared and how beautiful the ballroom was (it has been redecorated recently). The outdoor Tiki bar handled our large crowd and stayed open a bit later for our nightly gatherings. We were able to have late check out on our wedding day and for our honeymoon - we were given a room on the top floor with a wide oceanfront view, strawberries and champagne complimentary!!!

The conceirge gave us a great restuarant tip - Bimie's just around the corner had awesome crab legs and fresh seafood (no junky buffet - a little mom and pop place) and they always helped out with requests for little extras - suitcase stands, extra pillows, towels, etc.
We had our ceremony on the lawn area and even during the week of the 4th - (5:00 PM on July 8th) - The pool and beach crowd respected our event - no intruders but fun observers!! The staff was very accomodating and treated all guests wonderfully.

We did have trouble with a lock that broke on our door which left me and my bridesmaids trapped in our room for a few minutes (every wedding has their moments like these) but maintenance quickly helped us out and we were compensated quite nicely for the inconvience. We used the shuttle service everyday and never had to wait if we called in advance (usually an hour ahead) and if you tip the driver nicely ..... you can get to Bimie's and back without a hitch!

And the whole weekend we saw games for the kids, bands playing, face painting, massages, caricature drawings, karoke, etc. Since we are a bit of a party crowd with some kids in the picture - this kept everyone entertained! I am positive we will return for future family reunions!!

I'm not sure what the negative reviews were based on but I'm sure it wasn't typical of this hotel. Keep in mind, this is Myrtle Beach but this hotel raises the bar!! Maybe "resort" could be a bit misleading but this hotel was definitely a beautiful place to relax with friends and pick up a husband! Thanks Liana!

Compared to every other hotel we drove by in Myrtle Beach, I'm so glad we chose this one! Our experience wasn't at all like the negatives posted here, thankfully. Sure the snooty resturant is overpriced but the view is wonderful. I agree with some posters, it's not really a resort, or what I think of as a resort. But it's so much classier than the alternatives in Myrtle Beach (that are in the same price range). It's off the main strip, in a condo/residential area and not in the thick of the carnivals, tacky attractions, etc. We'll return here and stay longer next time. We got a much better price calling directly than prices found online.

My husband and I had never been to Myrtle Beach so we had no idea where to stay. Friends gave us a deal on Hilton plus we figured "it's the Hilton." The room was clean and updated. The lobby lavish, pool was nice and the entertainment poolside was a plus. Golfing was cheap and the weather was fantastic. Our problem was service. When we arrived we couldn't find a bell person, the check-in was slow because staff was low and we were late to our tee time because the complimentary shuttle driver was unavailable. The manager had to drive us over. After golfing we had to call the hotel twice for pick up. Phones in the room did not work so we had to go to the front desk for information and the staffers had little information for us. If you like clean and don't care about self serve the Hilton is great. Tip: rent a car if you stay a few days because everything at the resort closes early.

This hotel was a waste of money. Outside of its location, the only thing going for it, there is no reason to stay here. The staff were friendly, but completely clueless. Do they or dont they have valet? Dont ask me and dont expect the staff to know. Once you find the hotel, a feat in and of itself, you will be greeted by a confederacy of dunces whoes mad cap adventures will make for wonderful dinner conversation months afterward. But a vacation that in the thick of it ... will leave much to be desired. Desk staff took my car key ... with no idea if they should. Leading to a mystery the next day with bad attitudes all around.. Buyer beware.
