“Fun Side Trip”

We all had a good time at this aquarium and will continue to visit since it is one of my favorites. This time Santa was diving with the Mermaids and our granddaughter got to talk to him.

“Nice but tourist trappy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Upon walking in they have you pose for a photo which they hope you will pay some insane amount for....I didnt even ask.
Aquarium was nice, but you had to go through the gift store to leave the aquarium. Makes sense from a buisness sense but if you have kids with you....you ain't gettin out without laying out another $10+ per kid.

But this is what really upset me....there was a candy corner where you could buy candy for $3 a pound. You don't really think about whether that is a reasonable cost or not, your guard is down, but you should realize that the absence of scales is a clue that you are going to regret your decision.

I ended up with a very small bag of mediocre candy, which apparantly weighed 3/4 of a pound and cost me $9 ......a serious rip off. And the chocolate covered almonds were horrible. The chocolate was cheap and oversweet, the almonds, when they were present, were stale.

It could of least have been amazing candy for the money, but it was crap.

“Nice Outing if you have nothing else to do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

This was a nice aquarium. It is not huge but still very nicely made. Lots of interesting things to see. However, it's not much different than other aquariums. We visited on a rainy day when we couldn't get outdoors. I would suggest saving it for such an occasion.

“Very nice - certainly worth the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

I have to tell you that I was kind of surprised by this place. I think of Ripley's and I think of their "Believe it or not" houses that are kinda cool, a bit weird maybe, but just neat places to go. The aquarium though is really nice. They have a moving walkway below their main aquarium where you watch several species of sharks swim right over your head, and we aren't talking about 4 foot sharks here either. They have a ray petting area, an area where you can handle the Horseshoe crabs and they have all kinds of smaller tanks in which they have everything from the unusual to the exotic. It was actually very informative and quite a learning experience, especially for my daughter.
