“More than a bargain-this was a great hotel at an amazing price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2009

We loved this place! Our online deal got us a nice room in a modern style, complete with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The deal also included the buffet style breakfast which was nice (eggs, meats, grits, biscuits, waffle maker, cereal, baked goods, fruits, juice, etc.). Note that the breakfast is NOT complimentary. The facility was nice and well kept. Staff was warm and friendly and so were the complimentary cookies at night after I warmed them in the microwave! Free computer access in the sitting room off of the lobby and free wi-fi in the room. Nice pool and hot tub next to a medium-sized exercise room. It's located on a side street right off of US-17, so it's very easy to hop on the road and get to your destination.

We really enjoyed our stay at Courtyard Marriott. It is located about 15 minutes from Broadway at the Beach, 5 minutes to Tanger Outlet mall, 3 minutes to Barefoot landing, and 5 minutes to Hawaiian Rumble mini-golf. It is difficult to turn left out of the hotel, so we turned right and made a u-turn at the light each time we had to go that direction. We had no problem getting into the hotel parking lot.
The hotel itself is a little older but very well kept and clean. The staff were all very nice and very helpful. Our room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. We were on the first floor and the patio was very tiny. Wish it had been big enough to sit out on. The room was quiet. The pool was nice and the courtyard out back was very pretty and a great place to sit out.
The front desk sells snacks and some mini-bottles of liquor, which is nice because liquor stores close at 7 nightly. There are no mini-fridges or microwaves in the rooms. There is a microwave you can use at the front desk.
The breakfast buffet was included in our stay and it was very good. There is a large selection of hot and cold foods. The ladies serving were very helpful.
We would definitely stay here again. Nice rooms, great staff, good breakfast.

We had a nice stay here and the room was in good shape and comfortable. It isn't close to the beach so be prapared for a ride if you want to go there. I liked the 24 hour coffee and tea typical of Marriotts. The only problem was that my spouse accidentally left her mp3 and headphones in the nightstand and realized after we left and got to our next destination 6 hours away. I hoped that housekeeping would've looked through the entire room when vacated routinely and returned it but, Budd, a very helpful housekeeping manager, told me no. So, either they didn't check the nightstand drawer as they should (people could leave dangerous things) and the next occupant took the mp3, or housekeeping failed to turn it in, or my spouse is lying. The hotel's response was that they check the rooms...that's all...and I have to buy a new mp3. They should have done better on this and that's why I cannot rate them highly.

We usually stay at the beach, but we just went for some shopping at the Tanger Outlets so wanted to stay closer to Tanger and Barefoot Landing. This hotel is the perfect location for this and is also close to the mall. Also has two restaurants in the same parking are as the hotel. This hotel is very clean and looks as if it has been renovated...updated t.v., bedding, new bathroom, etc. We also had a small balcony which was nice. They also gave the four of us a free breakfast buffet which was good. Service is also very good here. My blow dryer broke while using it and I called the front desk and in a matter of a couple of minutes, they brought a new one and ask if everything was ok. We would certainly stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

We checked in to this Hotel on Jan 15, 2009 for 3 nights. We were expecting this town to be deserted, but the Courtyard Marriott Barefoot Landing was quite busy for the entire length of our stay.
We did not have to request a refrigerator because this hotel has them in most of their rooms. The flat screen TV's were amazing, and were a pleasant surprise.
The staff was warm and friendly from the time we checked in until we checked out. Carrie at the front desk is a rare gem and the sales people in this hotel are right on their game. Our group was delighted to find special touches for our guests, including offering to get the Bride and Groom a Limo for the price of a cab (CLASSY)! This is absolutely the place for your event!
We certainly will be staying at this hotel in the future, The remodeled rooms were beautiful and the housekeepers were wonderful!
Breakfast was a wonderful experience, the Eggs were cooked to order and the buffet was clean and bountiful. The server was from the Islands and made our little retreat feel magical.

You will not be sorry for staying here. What it lacks in location (1 mile to the beach) it makes up for in luxury! I just can't say enough!

This is my second stay at this property and I was not disappointed. It was the off season and the rates were very good. The hotel is very well maintained with an excellent staff. I frequently stay at Marriott properties and was upgraded to a very nice room. There are many restaurants nearby along with the Myrtle Beach attractions. Would definitely stay again.

  • Liked — Nice property.
  • Disliked — Busy street, no light.

As tropical storm Hanna rushed up the Atlantic coast for a Friday night NC or SC landing, we slept safe and sound at this EXCELLENT Courtyard by Marriott. We came down for a Friday overnight stay to see a concert at the House Of Blues only blocks away. When we arrived, the staff quickly checked us in. Everyone knew about the impending weather and was very calm and cool when discussing it with us.
The hotel was clean and the hallways were well lit and not too long. when entering the room we immediately noticed the 32" flat panel TV on a swivel base. Sweet! The room furniture was not scuffed and beaten up. There we NO cigarette burns anywhere. The bed was wonderfully firm and it was made up like a real bed (fitted bottom sheet and only tucked under the end). The linens were clean white sheets with a light comforter. I also noticed a heavier one in the closet.
The Tropical storm came in sometime in the wee hours of the night but I did not notice. We were sleeping soundly in this great room. The next morning we had a big breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. The food was good and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly.

  • Liked — The bed and linens
  • Disliked — the fan in the bathroom
