“Great for young families!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We stayed here over the week of 4th of July. We had a 2 bedroom villa with 2 adults and 3 kids, 8,6, and 3. There was plenty of room for us for the week to not be on top of each other all week.

Villa
The villa is very nice, has a washer and dryer (great when you have messy kids). Bathrooms are clean and there is lots of space. Towels are replaced mid-week if you stay 7 days. The building we were in (17) was rather quiet considering the place was packed. My kids loved the screened in porch, since it rained 3 out of 7 days. On a budget? Save money on eating out, buy groceries and eat in the villa! The kitchen has ALMOST everything you need for a week. There are grills outside, but no grilling tools. Remember to bring, hand soap unless you like to use bar soap for the bathroom sinks and dish soap to wash your hands in the kitchen.

Biggest issue for me was the WIFI. My husband and I are online students, and school doesn't stop for vacation, the WIFI speed was not enough to support the required videos for our assignments. Next time, I'll be done with school and this won't matter.

Resort Features
Since our kids are young, we did not need to go out to the strip for high priced fancy activities. Our kids were thrilled with Splash Cove, the pool, and the lazy river on site. We were there every day of our stay (indoors our out). We also took advantage of the tennis courts, small playground. We didn't have time for putt-putt, but for a young family, it would have been just fine. They give you a listing of all of the activities going on for the week, and they are great, we were just tight on money, and almost everything cost a few bucks. They had a great 4th of July pool party with lots of give-aways. The drinks at the pool were very expensive - $7 for a Pina Colada in 3/4 of a 8 oz plastic cup!!!!

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR TOWELS!!! The resort gives you a pool towel card for each guest, and you exchange it for a towel every time you need one at the pool. The towels are really nice, and large enough for after swimming. If you loose one, it's a $15 fee. We had 2 girls walk up to our pool chair and walk off with 2 of our towels while we were playing in the water park. Another guest caught them and made them put it back, but we would have been out $30 because of careless people.

Location
The resort is not oceanfront, or even near the ocean. Probably the one thing it is missing is an ocean view, or the sound of waves. But because of that, there is plenty of space, parking, and it's not crazy busy like other resorts on the strand. But if you want to go to the ocean, there are plenty of nice public access beaches that are not crazy crowded to enjoy for just a few minutes drive.

We will be back to this resort in 2 years to tackle the things we didn't get to since there is so much to do in Myrtle Beach.

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the pool, choose vila 26, if you want to be away from everything, 17 was...

It was a wonderful experience. It had 1 room with king size bed private bath, 2 room with 2 queen size beds and shared bath. The living room has sliding doors to a screened in patio. It also has a pull out couch. each room had a T.V. The living room T.V. had video games, netflix and music. The resort was not far from the malls, restaurants, and night life. The suite had everything you needed to cook for yourself and family. If you didn't want to go outside of the secured resort, they have two pools, a mini golf course, a small lake and they offer arts and crafts for adults as well as the children. When we arrived we were met at the entrance by the resident geese. They are adorable. They live on the property by the lake. There is free wi-fi for up to 4 people. My only wish was to take the whole space home with me to live in.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the lake so you can see the geese come out and go in of their nest every day.

We rented a 2 bedroom villa on-line. We had stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando last year and had an excellent experience. The Sheraton in Myrtle Beach had some signs of brilliance - the check in staff was excellent (they gave a lot of great advice and area coupons), the pool was well maintained with plenty of lounge chairs, the tennis courts and the basketball court were excellent also, and we love the entertainment system (Bose audio for I-pod, and Blue Ray player). The following could have been better, our patio was not very clean (cobwebs and bugs), not enough gas grills on the property, the duck poop was not cleaned off the walkways often enough, there were some extra charges for room cleaning services, and the oven did not heat up. Overall, the experience was very good - we turned down the AC, relaxed, and enjoyed the resort. One cautionary note for Myrtle Beach Travelers - 11 % sales tax on FOOD, totally ridiculous.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground level, no issues with noise.

Thank You for your review on your stay with us. We are glad there were so many positives to your trip but we do apologize for the issues with your balcony, I hope you let someone know while you were here so we may make it right. We do try and keep up with the ducks but there were way more than usual this year and we have tried to solve this issue as the year has gone on. The sales tax in the city is very high and us locals do not like it either. We hope to add more gas grills in the future but we do have charcoal grills with picnic tables at every building.
Thank You and we look forward to your return.

We have always stayed at a campground in a villa during vacation week..we have done this since I was a baby. Due to my dad's health conditions, we decided to try something else. We returned Saturday, the 6th from a week long stay here. It was the most awesome time we have ever had. The villa was top of the line everything and so comfortable. It was clean and big and extremely nice. The pool area was the greatest. Late night swimming and lazy river was great. I am 46 and thoroughly enjoyed Splash Cove (kids water park) myself. It was like having a water park at our hotel. It is located close to everything but yet secluded enough to be serene and relaxing. We want to make this our forever place to stay vacation week from now on. We loved it so much I actually cried when we had to leave.

Room Tip: Building 26 is close to the pool area but is a Sunday check in....we were in building 2 but the pool...

The trip began with a Friday check in. We were welcomed and the room was very nice. Positives-wonderful pools, screened in patio, plenty of space, and a great kitchen. The location is not right next to the ocean but it is a simple drive and we had no trouble parking. Bob, who works with golfing and other activities was especially helpful.

Since we were all adults traveling together we did not participate in the activities at the resort but they seemed to be plentiful. We did golf and see a show as well as go to Broadway at the Beach and a baseball game.

The weather was the only real negative as it rained three days. Still it was a great week and I would go back to this resort.

There were six of us that stayed in a 2 bedroom condo, 2 adults plus kids ages 11 month, 3yrs, 11 and 12. Everyone had a blast. The staff was great and very pleasant to deal with and when we arrived, we were able to check in right away. They gave us coupons that we could use and we did for Momma Mia's pizza which was very good and Atlantic water sports for parasailing (more details listed below). Even though it rained 4 of the 7 days we were there, there were so many other things we were able to do. What is nice about this resort is that it is gated and private but close to pretty much everything. I'll break it up below because these are things that I would've liked to know going down for the first time.

Pool -The resort will give you 1 card per person staying in the room to get towels for the pool. You can get towels by the golf course and when you take your towel back you can get a new towel or your card back each day. There were a couple pools so it never seemed over crowded. The kids water park was a lot of fun. We went there almost every day. They will close if any storms with thunder roll in but if its only raining they will stay open. There were at least 4-5 life guards just in the waterpark area but they were a lot of fun and were pretty laid back which was awesome. They allowed the kids to have fun! Parents could go down all the slides with the kids which was another great thing and the pools were clean. The lazy river and pool that is connected was heated so we went there a lot because it felt wonderful.

Room - The 2 bedroom place was very spacious and clean. Our kitchen had plates, bowls, cups, pots and a pan, baking sheet, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator with freezer. It also had a washer and dryer although it took things forever to dry in the dryer....it almost sounded like it was on its last leg, but it worked. They give you a dish towel, clothes and a couple dishwasher tabs but if you have a large family and plan on cooking, bring additional tabs. Also bring laundry detergent. They provide you with towels and wash clothes. The maid comes on Tuesdays and will swap out your dirty towels for clean. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and clean.

Grilling - If you like to grill they have grills throughout the resort, just remember to bring or buy aluminum foil there,

Groceries - We shopped for groceries at Bi-low which was close to the resort and signed up for their bonus card. Just from shopping for the week we were able fill our gas tank before we left and saved $.38 per gallon(only at certain gas stations). Just another perk in our trip.

The beach - The beach was gorgeous! It was easier to drive there. If you go towards the beach and go to the right its more rowdy but to the left is more family like. Heading down you will see a public parking sign every so many feet on the right. Its free to park and is a short walk to the beach with rinsing stations. The ocean water was as warm as the heated pool water and the waves just rolled in so the kids were able to go out! Beautiful!

Things to do: If you are looking to do something fun, Atlantic water sports has parasailing and for 3 people to go up together, only costs $120 with the coupon. My husband and 2 kids had a lot of fun.

Shopping - Must check out barefoot landing! It was very nice there. We held the baby tiger and monkey. Cost $99 but the kids loved it! You get 1 8x10 picture. You can buy additional pics for $20 each or the disk with all the pics was $75. They have a lot of shops there and cool bridges that are just above the water and turtles and huge carp will come up right next to you. The boardwalk shopping center was fun too and both Boardwalk and Barefoot have fireworks 1x every week. You can also go to the actual boardwalk by the beach. If you have kids you'll probably want to drive look for parking on the right before the ferriswheel - its only $10 all day parking...some places charged $7 an hour!!!!

All in all, it was an amazing first time and we hope to go back again next year!

MIL let us use her timeshare for a weeks vacation with the kids (8 and 15). The positives:
Aqua aerobics every morning
24 hr fitness center
Screened in patio
Jacuzzi tub
Kitchen
Sports equipment to borrow
Location is very convenient to everything

Negatives:
No activities for teens
95% of activities cost $
No organized sports (ex. volleyball games)
Walls are super thin
Everything echoes off balcony
Found trash under bed upon arrival
No maid service except towel exchange during the week
Second bedroom location (right next to walkway and elevator
Poolside bar prices are way too high for drinks and food
The deepest pool was 4 ft deep.

4th day into our vacation I awoke with 30+ bites all over my neck and scalp and a few on my legs. I was the only person in our family that had them and I was the only person in our family to sleep in the bed in the master bedroom. I contacted housekeeping and they immediately sent their maintenance up to check the bed for bed bugs. They also had a professional come in. The only thing they visibly saw was a spider. All I know is that I was eaten by something and it was very itchy and miserable. We ended up leaving 3 days early mainly because of that and the weather. When we checked out we were never even asked why we were leaving early or how our stay was. We may come back to Myrtle Beach in the future but not to this resort.
