Been coming to Garden City on vacation for 28 years and Flo's was always one of our favorite places to eat. After a couple of not-so-great experiences back in the mid-90's we stopped going for a few years, then decided to give it another try. Am I glad we did!! We've been going for several years now and always have a great dining experience. Atmosphere and view are wonderful, and the service and food are always outstanding. Oysters diablo are a great appetizer--perfectly fried oysters nested in the shell on a bed of spicy diablo sauce (tastes like it has a mustard base and is SO good!). My grandson loves the gator fritters as well. Shrimp creole is perfectly seasoned and loaded with plump shrimp. My mother and granddaughter always get the salad topped with boiled shrimp and they give it rave reviews. Broiled seafood platter is always very good and my personal favorite is the blackened fish -- VERY spicy, but absolutely delicious. Two large filets over a bed of rice. Comes with a bowl of fresh oka and tomatoes and lots of garlic bread for "sopping" up all the juices. And if you can make room for it the creme brulee is out of this world! It seems pricey at $7.50, so you might consider sharing an order, but believe me, you'll want it all for yourself! Going back for a "girls' week" at the beach in August and Flo's is definitely on the list for dinner!
