“Not what we expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2011

My family loaded up in the SUV and checked out Murrell's Inlet last night. We are staying on Pawley's Island, which is closeby. We found the Marsh Walk and strolled it with many other people, as they waited for dinner at one of the local fish places.

I cannot tell you how disappointed we were after this outing. I understand the historical significance of this area, and I appreciate this history, BUT the Marsh Walk had littered waters, a very putrid smell, and only a pair of water birds to observe. We were planning to eat dinner at one of the restaurants on the Inlet, but to be honest, we lost our appetite after visiting the Marsh Walk.

There are plenty of other marshes to discover in this area. Spend your time exploring these.

“A great place for a stroll to look over the marsh, stop for a drink, eat lunch....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2011

The Marsh Walk is about one mile in length, that is located next to the marsh on one side and several restaurants and bars on the other side, and ends at the marina. It is a nice place to take a stroll before and after a meal. We saw a few fishing boats coming and going, had a good view of Goat Island (with its several resident goats all visible), some kayakers, and several boats tied up in their slips.

We decided it was such a lovely spot and day, we choose Bubba's Luv Shack for lunch. There are several places to choose from, though you certainly are free to just visit the Marsh Walk to take a stroll. Several access points and parking is free.

“A lovely stroll before or after dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2010

My family went for a walk along the Marsh Walk after gorging ourselves at Prosser's. They have done a nice job, with interpretive signs and a fishing pier. We chatted with folks who were fishing and learned where our lunch and dinner had come from, while enjoying the sunshine and the smell of the salt water.

“Marsh Walk at Murrells Inlet - Awesome!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2010

Our relatives have a condo in Murrells Inlet, SC. We just love the Marsh Walk!!! Especially, Dead Dog Saloon for drinks and entertainment after a long day on the beach at Pawley's Island. Drunken Jack's has great seafood bisque and dinner entrees. My husband and I make the Marsh Walk our first stop off the plane from NJ. Murrells Inlet is one of our all time favorite vacation spots!! “Wonderful after-dinner stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2009

Go here after dinner for a lovely end to the evening. We were on the marsh walk as the sun went down, and we could hear the music floating over the water. This was very romantic! Also, we saw a few people catch fish while we were there. There were also fireworks in the distance, which was so nice!
