“Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We found this restaurant on trip advisor and decided to give it a try, even with our three kids. We were seated inside, yet still had a great view of the inlet. Food was very good, breaded shrimp and fish were very tasty. coleslaw was wonderful (not too wet). One child had breaded shrimp and loved them; another had Alaska snow crab legs (price was very reasonable and they were good). Another had grilled cheese. The waiter was very helpful, especially with drinks for the kids and keeping the adult's sweet tea refilled. Only once did we want to flag him down - as soon as I had turned to do so, he was already there with the item we needed as he realized he hadn't brought the spoon. Once two kids and I were done, we went outside to walk on the boardwalk out front, their lawn and to the play at their playset, while my other kid and husband finished up. We were very pleased and will return for sure.

“Great southern fish menu - a must if you are new to local specialities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

I went here with colleagues for dinner. It was a great setting and the staff were very welcoming. I had a local speciality of fried oysters, which were perfectly cooked. The crab chowder was great. If you are in the area I would recommend this as a great night out either as a couple or as a family (and also with colleagues!).

“The same as others”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

We chose to eat at Hot Fish Club because of the reviews and were looking forward to a great meal. Unfortunately that didn't happen; we experienced okay food and poor service. It seemed like all the fish entrees came with some sort of sauce, so we ordered grilled shrimp and a fried seafood platter - nothing was wrong with either, but they were not exceptional. The hushpuppies that came with our meals were hard (not sure how that happens, but it took a lot of pressure to bit into it and they seemed to be all crust). Service was really lacking - we had to remind our server of the two requests that we had, and she never brought one of the things we had requested - the restaurant was not busy, so not sure why. Hot Fish Club is not a bad place, but with better seafood places close-by, this would not be my first choice for a seafood dinner.

“Hot Fish Club is a Winner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We have been vacationing and eating in MB area for over 30 years, and this restaurant is now one of our new favs. Oliver was a great waiter, and was very helpful with suggestions. Checked on us frequently, but was not overbearing. Wonderful she crab soup and fried calamari. One at our table had lobster pot pie...excellent. Hubby had seafood cioppino, and I had char-grilled grouper with chessy grits. All ingredients were very fresh tasting and large portions! Everything was hot and delivered to the table in a timely manner. Desserts of key lime pie, cannoli, and cheesecake were also hits with us. Dine inside or on the screened porch. Nice views. We will be back for sure.

“Good, but not excellent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

I chose this restaurant because of the many very positive reviews. I found the restaurant to be about average. The food was very good, especially the lightly breaded shrimp and fish. The oysters were heavily breaded and over cooked. The skin left on the fish filet was a little unappetizing. I was surprised that we were served yeast rolls as the pre-entrée bread in a seafood restaurant. Our waiter took my comment to heart as my order came with hush puppies though the menu stated it would be rolls. Kudos for the adjustment. I think the restaurant deserves another try I will give it a second chance.
