“Very Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

It would be nice to see a few more benches, to sit and view the statues. More directional signs would be nice also, as the map is a pain when walking, and confusing. We didn't see any "park rangers" to ask directions. It was a very very hot day, another gesture would be for staff to ride around occasionally with a golf cart to ensure guests are not wilting from the heat, and take them to air conditioning or offer bottled water.

“Loved it”

On a girlfriend trip this was a great way to spend a warm day. Be sure to take one of the free tours for real insight into the history of the gardens and former residents.

“Gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

We spent over three hours walking through everything offered at the gardens. It is beautiful. If you're not a garden/nature lover then this place definitely isn't for you. If you are a garden lover then you will really enjoy this place. There are so many sculptures nestled in various gardens of beautiful flowers, bushes, trees and ponds. We walked the trail and my mom nearly stepped on a copperhead so pay attention to your surroundings. Once I saw the sign that read "illegal to feed alligators" I was immediately on high alert and aware of my surroundings. :-) I'm very happy that the animals kept there are all rehab animals that can no longer survive in the wild.

“Very Impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

After seeing an advertisement for Brookgreen Gardens on the Myrtle Beach visitor channel, we decided to visit. We were heading to Murrells Inlet anyway. You pay for admission which is good for 7 days. There is so much to see and do, I can't imagine doing it all in one trip. We only visited the zoo and butterfly house. The zoo was unlike any I'd been to. The animals are in their natural habitats and you can walk through them. The place has an awesome aviary with native birds, an otter habitat (which I must say was my favorite part of my vacation), alligators, deer, turkeys, foxes, and birds that aren't in the aviary. The butterfly house was educational and beautiful. There are over 200 hundred butterflies in the small house. We spent the majority of the day between the two places. On our next trip we will visit the sculpture gardens.

“Beautiful statues and gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

Loved it. Nice relaxing boat ride. Beautiful statues all throughout the gardens. If you love nature you will enjoy this experience. The restaurant food was also very good and reasonable. We even saw alligators on the boat ride.
