“Typical Mall Bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

Not sure why they call this a Tapa bar but okay. The food is average, the bar is great. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. The location is perfect if you’re waiting for friends or family in the Towne Center. The prices are average for mall bar. Will I go back? Yes

“Tapas restaurant without tapas items? Oh ok”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2011 via mobile

Hatchells recently made a new menu (if you've been there- yea, it was needed). But guess what? The tapas tavern no longer serves tapas. They serve sliders. On hard, cheap tasting buns. Tsunami has dollar beers- Hatchells cheapest was 2.50- and it's High Life. I tried a "Bar fly favorite": crab fritters. The inside of them was uncooked, as in mushy floury hushpuppy mixture. The outside- burnt. Next up, sliders. As I said- the bun was close to rock hard. So my question to

“So-so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

I was visiting Charleston with a group of girlfriends, and we decided to spend the day shopping. Around lunch-time, we stopped into Hatchell's after checking out the menu. Everything seemed decently priced, so we decided to give it a try. The service was a little slow. Two of my friends decided to do the salad bar and they each ordered toppers. It took an usually long amount of time for their toppers to come out to them. We all split the pita plate, which came with three different types of hummus - all which were great. I had the Sliced Turkey Melt, and it certainly wasn't anything special. The restaurant is fine for a quick bite to eat, but I've certainly had better food and service.

“Worse Ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011 via mobile

I am not exaggerating. Nothing good to say about this place. Everything completely fried to death, and my husband's Mac & cheese looked like it had been scraped from a two week old batch! Will never return!

“Deep Fried and Weak Drinks”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2011 via mobile

Best example I can give I ordered a mixed drink and was informed on complaint that it only contained half a shot of vodka! Not even a minute later I heard another customer complain about also having no liquor in his drink. Drank water after that as well as everyone else dining within ear shot. Food tasted like it was frozen then deep fried multiple times. It was almost wet thick. Needless to say will not be going back.
