“Wonderful Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2011

We had wanted to visit here for a while but when we checked the price was a little high for our budget. Lucked up on a reasonable rate and where very pleased. The cottages are as nice as the pictures look. It was as if we were in our on little world. The view was great. When we return( and we will) - We will request a lower number cottage found out the lower the number to better the view. The screened porch had the most confortable wicker rockers that made for a few heavenly days of reading and relaxing. The only change I would have made was the breakfast. We stayed 3 days and passed on breakfast the 3rd day because it was a repeat of days 1 and 2. - Bed was very confortable. Bath was large - kitchen - had everything you could need. Even has a washer and dryer with detergent provided. DVDS and books available to use. Overall has made my top ten list. Can't wait to return

“Even better than the website suggested”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2010

I loved this place. I wish I could have just moved in forever. The cottage was right there on the water, fantastic views of the habor, Charleston, Ft. Sumter, Castle Pickney...The porch was perfect for sitting with a drink and watching the pelicans swoop down to catch a fish. We swam in the pool both nights about 9 and that was just perfect-we had the pool and hot tub all to ourselves. Really a lovely place. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

“Do not stay here.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2010

My husband brought me here for my birthday and we were looking forward to a very quiet and romantic vacation. Next door, at the Charleston Marina, there was lots of noise on the Friday night we were there. Some may call it music, I, who appreciate music that makes sense, thought it was absolute garbage. We had to listen to this loud bombardment of noise till after 10 pm and did not appreciate it al all. We could not even sit in the cottage and watch a movie without hearing the crap emanating from next door.
Do not stay here unless you like lots of noise. We really thought of returning in September for a week but will never return due to the lack of consideration from the staff.

“Excellent appointments, waterfront view, superb service and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2010

This is a wondefrul way to enjoy Charleston, and yet come back to a very private and luxurious home with a sweeping view of the water from your very own private veranda. The daily breakfast .,along with a delightful afternoon snack are nicely presented and included in the rental price. The private clubhouse and pool are nicely appointed. A great way to enjoy city life and then relax in a low country getaway minutes from Charleston.

“lovely, but”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2010

The Cottages at Charleston Harbor aka Belvedre Cottage per GPS are truely unique and perfectly beautiful. We were there in April during Race Week. It is a great location to take advantage of watching the boaters from your own private enclosed porch and enjoying the serenity of the location. The hotel next to the cottages hosted the event so evening entertainment was clearly heard. There was construction which could be seen and heard across the lagoon. No alligator sighted while we were there. James and Tony were wonderful, but no one is there after 11 PM so you are on your own if an emergency or other needs arise. There is a hefty resort fee as well. The hot tub was out of commission while we were there and the gas fireplace had been shut off. It is only for ambience so it seems rather small to have turned it off. It was cool and windy so it would have been nice to have use of it. The pool is lovely, but not heated and the water was VERY cold. The morning continental breakfast and afternoon treats are a nice touch. No tea served however, so bring it from your cottage. We enjoyed the Mt. Pleasant area with easy and walkable access to the Yorktown which was truely fascinating. The water taxi takes you to Charleston next to the aquarium. A fun ride via bike/rickshaw to the Waterfront was worth it. From the drop off site we were able to go to Ft. Sumter, also fascinating. However, check the site for pick up because the literature is very confusing. Restaurants to recommend in Mt. Pleasant - Vichery's and Water's Edge both recommendations from Tony and both delicious and great sunset views on Shem Creek. Bottome line, an absolutely lovely site - great wedding venue - but small stuff took away from the total experience, especially when you are charged a RESORT FEE.
