“A Must When in Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We go to Mt Pleasant monthly to visit our children. This is one restaurant we ALWAYS choose at least once while there. Kyle, the manager, is great and the food is fabulous. We love the pistachio crusted chicken, the short ribs, the list goes on....Anytime you see a restaurant in a tourist location filled with locals, you know the food is good!

“Incredible food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

This restaurant is just outside of Charleston, on the south side.
It's not on the main road out of town, but it's not far away, probably less than 1 minute. It's worth the stray.

We ordered the Smoked Cheddar Tomato Pie and the soup of the day, which was remnant of French Onion Soup, although they called it a different name. Both were very good, but the Tomato Pie was incredible. I had no real expectations, other than I had heard it was excellent. It lived up to its reputation. This is a must try!!!

We also ordered the Gorgonzola Walnut Stuffed Chicken. What about this doesn't sound good. It was the perfect ensemble of flavors with it's sweet potatoes and cherry balsamic reduction sauce. Scrumptious!

Service was good. We sat at a table outside around 7pm, so the sun was coming down. This made it a little hot. But I imagine when the sun is not bearing down, that outside would be a very nice spot to sit and dine.

I definitely recommend going out of your way the 1/2 mile or so on your way out of town. I do believe it will be worth your time and effort.

“Lucky Pick”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Two friends and I had gone to Mt. Pleasant on errands. We decided to have lunch before heading to the Charleston Tea Plantation. We happened upon Long Point Grill and decided to give it a try. The number of cars in the parking lot should have given us a clue - it wasn't even noon yet on a Monday yet the parking lot held many cars already.

Our server brought us the most wonderful bread shortly after we sat down. It was warm and the herb topping was just enough, not overpowering but pleasant. The oil served with the bread was light and complimented the herbs in the bread.

It was difficult to choose our entrees as the menu was full of tempting options. Daily specials were equally tempting. One friend had a fried chicken plate and the chicken was crispy and tender. The veggies were imaginatively served. The second friend's choice was a pimento cheese with fried green tomato sandwhich with grilled asparagus as the side. I had a crab cake fried green tomato stack. Everything was delicious. I know because we sampled each other's choices.

We were full but had to try the pecan pie torte, which we all three split. I can't begin to tell you how rich and decadent that dessert tasted and how we practically licked the plate to get the last morsel. Oh my goodness!

To briefly sum it up: service was attentive and professional; food was wonderful; the seating left enough space between the tables so that you could actually relax and eat your food without bumping into your neighbor. (I just hate going to a nice restaurant and being crowded so was very happy to be able to enjoy my food and carry on a conversation without being cheek to cheek with strangers!)

If you are in Mt. Pleasant, SC you should really try Long Point Grill. You won't be sorry.

“Constructive criticism”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

This is one of our go-to places and we had another nice meal there yesterday evening. My wife is fond of the chicken quesadilla and it did not disappoint again. My softshell crab (first of the season there), however, could have been a bit better. This transplant from 28 years in Maryland would note to the kitchen that softshell lovers value the crunchy exterior that comes from deep frying. Here, unnecessarily putting a nice salad with dressing atop the crab rendered it a bit soggier than it would have otherwise been.

“Off the beaten Path, But Worth It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Have been for dinner now twice to Long Point, and I have had great experiences and great food both times. Menu is a good mix of salads, meat entrees and pastas, and of course some Low Country favs. It's a nice quiet spot for meetings and for socializing Great little wine list and good staff make the place a great little gem. Try the mac and cheese, yumm-o!
