“Best Fried Chicken ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Every year we spend March in the Charleston area and always visit Paige's Okra Grill. My wife who is not normally a fried food eater always gets the fried chicken and believes it's the best ever. I love fried oysters and they are great. Guess we are in a rut because we always order the same thing. Don't miss this place.

“Gut Buster”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

It's easy to understand the popularity of this restaurant ... generous portions, reasonable prices, friendly service, innovative menu. I had the shrimp and grits, and my only complaint is that a steady diet of this would result in in a 54 inch waistline in no time.

Cholesterol and calories are not the concern here. They want you to leave fat, dumb, and happy. And they are successful at achieving this. If you want a lighter touch or healthier fare, you can go somewhere else or just order strategically. The appetizer portion of the shrimp and grits, for instance, will satisfy the average appetite, while the entree size is over-the-top.

Page's is the best kind of family affair, and every American town should have one ... or better still, two. Rock on!

“South Carolina flavor, charm, service with value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

I saw this restaurant featured on the food channel and saw great reviews by Trip Advisor members also. After having lunch here today my wife commented that this was some best flavor she had ever had. That said a lot for a a small family owned family restaurant. We had three appetizers and the fried chicken dinner for a good sampling of flavor. It did not disappoint and represented great low country renditions at reasonable prices and great service. It was so good we want to repeat on this trip but unfortunately there was a posting on the door that they were closing at 3:00 due to a family emergency. We later found out that the owner had passed at 57 years old earlier that day. We wish the family well and hope for the best. I'm sure they will rebound. As for readers, this is an absolute must do when in the Charleston area. Top quality and flavor for a very reasonable price.

“Wonderful lunch with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

We went here with a friend and all of us enjoyed our lunches. We timed it perfectly because the restaurant does a large lunch business during the week. The outdoor dining is too close to the road for me and on a curve. Parking is available, but could be a problem. The chicken liver appetizer is wonderful. Our friend doesn't care for okra, but found that the recipes with it were wonderful. The shrimp and grits that my husband had were delicious. The country fried steak was delicious as well. We were all pleased with the food and the service.
