“Love this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

I've stayed here three times within the past year and each time my experience has been wonderful. Very clean hotel, friendly staff, and the breakfast is always fresh. Affordable and close to downtown or the beaches - can't lose with this hotel!

This was our first stay at Patriots Point and from previous reviews we read we were not expecting a lot but we were fooled. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very nice and presentable. No problems on our stay. We will do it again soon.

Stayed in this hotel in May and found the hotel to be understaffed. I overheard the housekeeping staff complaining that management had no one to attend the continental breakfast and she would have to work the area as well as her other duties. Would explain why the food bar was a little sparse. Also, the room we stayed in showed a lot of wear, which I was surprised at considering the area and the price point for the hotel room. Also, I noticed that the exit door to the pool that was supposed to be locked at night, was propped open. Lastly, the hotel was extremely noisy, especially at night. We stayed on the top floor, but had to call management twice about the noise. Did not feel safe there or feel that management cared about the comfort of guests. Would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask before you book a room, whether the hotel has booked a large party on your floor (wedding, famil...

Reasonable price, refrigerator, microwave, adjacent to a shopping center, easy access to the Ravenel Bridge to get to the cruise terminal by shuttle ($)or by car.
Hot breakfast is included and is standard fare served in a very small area of the lobby, Hot was hot, cold was cold and coffee was good.Very good working AC wall unit is very close to one of the two queen beds and the airflow is not adjustable so you wake up with one side of your body frozen!

Hot shower is indeed hot, pressure should be a bit higher, tub drain is slow.
Front desk is courteous, helpful and knowledgable about the area.
We would stay there again.

Compared to other Best Westerns I have stayed at lately, this one is not the best. Great location for attractions. The staff does their job but nothing extra. The breakfast definitely needs help. We are in the south folks and gravy and grits are a staple of life here! Where is it??? You can't eat biscuits without gravy or jelly and both were missing on both days I was there. The eggs were runny, the juice was water both the apple and orange juice needed to be filled. There was only plain oatmeal and no yogurts like other Best Western motels have. The lady in charge could have been friendlier and more energetic - I will definitely recommend Mount Pleasant area when visiting the Charleston area but will probably look for a better value & price.

For the most part this hotel is a good value. Beds are very firm and mattresses are covered in plastic. I would prefer a pillow top mattress like La Quinta hotels use. There was an area of mold growing on the carpet around the door leading to the adjacent room. We did not report this issue until checkout but the staff did take note of it so hopefully it will be taken care of. Otherwise the room was very clean and inviting. The room was very quiet and the front desk staff was very accommodating. For the price paid I would recommend this hotel.
