“Great walk”

Great place to take a stroll. Amazing scenery. Hidden near Old Village. A great place to swing by for 20-30 minutes of relaxation.

The view and fishing. The availability for my daughters to kayak and go paddle boarding. Great place to just sit look at the view.

“Mt. Pleasant's best kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

Find this gem at the end of Pitt Street in the "old village" area of Mt. Pleasant and you'll never forget it and return frequently. Made from the remains of an old trolley bridge that once connected Sullivan's Island, it us now a beautiful walk lined with palmetto treats out into the marsh and open water that is accessible to walkers, runners and everyone else. Beautiful at any hour of the day but particularly at high or lie tide and perfect for wheelchair access!

“Great short walk, bike ride, birdwatching site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

The old Pitt Street bridge, built for cars in 1927, used to go to Sullivan Island. The road stops just before the location where the actual bridge crossed the water. The bridge is no more. But the walk is paved and beautiful. Perhaps only a half to 3/4 of a mile long, it is place where the "locals" go for a walk, bike ride, to push the baby in the carriage, and where the birders go to get a great look at the shorebirds which are feeding in the "mud-flats" adjacent to the road. This is a beautiful place to pass an hour in nature!

“An Interesting Place to View the Marsh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

The Pitt Street Bridge is the bridge that isn't a bridge. Previously a bridge linked Sullivan's Island to the mainland. It was demolished when a new bridge was constructed. Now, the road remains to the water's edge. Along the way, you can view the marsh and the various plants and creatures that inhabit it.
