“Authentic Italian fare, Naples style pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

The dishes were very authentic and prepared with imported ingredients. The pizza (great crust!) was very good, as was that evenings seafood pasta special. The pasta and pesto were both storemade. The wait staff was OK but was a bit too casual given the quality of the food (left my app. plate and told me use it for the shrimp tails, a few too many "dude" comments but it was obvious they love their jobs, when finished the bus guy said "was everything awesome?" when we said yes, he said, "great, we really don't want to settle for anything less" it was genuine, not fake). Only bottled water and soft drinks available are available for non-alcohol, which is OK for the soda but having to buy an extra bottled water if you are thirsty from a hot Charleston day just doesn't seem right. Wine by the glass was all Italian, and we enjoyed both our white (wife) and red (husband) selections. You pay as you leave which gave us the chance to talk to the Italy born owner, she was very nice. We really wanted to try the housemade desserts but didn't have room, they looked amazing! Restaurant is in a retail strip instead of stand alone but don't be fooled by entrance...it's cozy inside with a decent atmosphere.

Thanks for visiting La Pizzeria! We try to create a warm and casual atmosphere in which our guests can enjoy our food. I am so sorry that you missed our freshly brewed teas (Southern sweet, Unsweetened, and Green) as non-alcoholic beverage options with unlimited refills. The water? , I am limited by the setup that we inherited at this location and look forward to making improvements down the road. Laura would not have it any other way. Thanks again for visiting us and hope you do so again!

“Delicious Pizza and Friendly Staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

My husband and I stopped here for dinner one night recently while staying in the area. The Quatro Gusti pizza we ordered reminded us of the pizza we had while on vacation in Rome. It was simply delicious! The staff was outstanding as well....very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend a stop here while in the area....you won't be disappointed!

“Simply outstanding pizza.......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

I understand that I am not from Chicago or New York so I most likely do not appreciate "great" pizza. That is a pre-emptive shot of sarcasm at those that believe that great pizza somehow only exists outside of that small area of the world.

We had dined at Hyman's for lunch on the day of our visit so we were not famished or anything.
We arrived around 8:00 PM on a Saturday night and sat outside. We ordered 2 small pizzas, again due to the fact that we had enjoyed a large lunch. Our party of mom, dad and 3 sons loved the pizza......one pepperoni (Brooklyn Bridge) and a Neopolitan (add Mushroom/Onion/Tomato/Pepperoni).

Our next visit to the area will include a return visit to this great little establishment. Wait staff were all so very friendly and helpful. This is the kind of operation that our family loves to support with our patronage.

We found a true gem in "La Pizzeria". Many thanks from our family.

“Little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012 via mobile

Truly good Italian hasn't always been easy to find in these parts, but several visits here tell us this is the real thing. Fresh, homemade and clearly owner operated we have enjoyed this spot every time. It isn't cheap nor fancy, but it is real and that is worth a lot.

Thank you so much for your review. Many might say that we are glad that you found us, but we are glad that we found you! We are thankful that you have an appreciation of our efforts to provide quality, authentic Italian food in a cozy atmosphere. With a place so small, it is so easy to think of our customers as more of our friends and family, Welcome!

Regards,
Chad
