“nice little surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

after a long drive to Charleston we needed a place to eat... this place was reccomended by the owner of the B&B we were staying at, who was very kind to call them beforehand to see if they were still serving as it was a little late..
anyway, we got there and it was a little empty, although on the othr side of the restaurant there was a big party.
the service was great, our waitress was very sweet, the food very good.
i had the poshest shrimp and grit ever, my boyfriend had some pork and he said it was delicious.
then we had cakes and they have been really nice as i have asked a candle on my boyfriend's cake as it was his birthday a couple of days earlier, so we had some birthday feel...

the only thing that i did have doubts about was the chocolate mousse cake. i found it a little soggy but it tasted really good.

definitely reccomended.

“Great local food with style”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Southern food cooked with style and class.
First time I'd had the local oysters - lightly breaded and fried. Oh so plump and creamy. Shared the smoked pork chop. Very tasty.
Only complaint was we found the food over salted. We prefer to add seasonings.

“Great food, service and ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

Vacations are for trying out many new restaurants, but this one warranted a repeat visit. The outdoor patio, warmed by a roaring fire in a brick fireplace and by space heaters, is cheery and comfortable. The pork chop is smoky and moist. The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our daughter enjoyed the table version of S'mores. If this restaurant were not 500 miles away, we would be back again next week.
